    I must say, very good review!
    I hate when they say a car is bad or good based on their own personal preferences, but you sir, said it well and right. " It's about what you want in a car, comfort or sport"
    +1 like for you!

    Perfectly researched, impartially moderated, well-balanced and seriously demonstrated. That's a product demonstration should look like. Compliments! If the instructor could improve his hard Germany accent, it might be more than 5 stars. Good job guys. Go on like this!

    I have c4 1.6 HDI 2006 and its very comfortable after 9 years and 170 thousand km, it has very heavy feeling when you are driving through the curves. What i really hate about this car, are weak plastic in engine bay, and cheap plastic buckles which are broken. Noise isolation around engine easily got rotten which induce noise inside car. Good diesel engine and low fuel consumption. 1100km with full tank, open road normal driving :)

    A good review for my purposes: we're replacing my wife's car and we've narrowed the choice to two cars: the C4 and a Hyundai i30. Our choice is now looking more on the whole 'package'. The through-life costs of the i30 might be greater, due to an uncompromising approach by our Hyundai dealer, when compared to our outstandingly-flexible Citroen agent; however there are some other aspects to consider.
    In the UK, one MAJOR disadvantage of the C4 is the 'meagre' 3-year Citroen warranty. The other cars we looked at come with 5. Whichever car we choose, we'll replace it in 5 years' time. In the UK, warranty for years 4 and 5 must be bought as an 'extra' from Citroen, adding to the through-life cost.
    The 5-year Hyundai warranty has already been proven to us. The car being replaced is a 2009 i30, whose ignition key fell apart at 50 months. I expected to have to pay a hefty ~£200 for a replacement. However, it was immediately replaced by the local Hyundai agent without question. Well done, Hyundai! I'm not sure Citroen would respond in the same way, but perhaps I'm mistaken....
    Thanks again,
    Phil

    Hello, great review, very very objective and critically on point, one question tho - what is the difference between the Facelift 2013/2014 and 2015 model?? :)

  • @win7sony
    @win7sony Před 9 lety +1

    For me, a Seat Leon is a better buy, but I've always rather liked the C4 anyway, because Citroen has some very clever and innovative ideas. There seems to always be a certain level of quality from something that was designed in Niedersachsen, that you just don't seem to get on anything else at this price level. If I was more focused on design that quality, and comfort was very important, the Citroen would be my choice, but that Seat is basically a Golf, the king of the class, except cheaper and with a different badge.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 9 lety

      Anwar Afhim True. C4 is the best choice for price/comfort and Leon for price/sportiness in the compact class!

    Citroen C4 grande vettura per chi fa molta strada anche il solo allestimento business, finiture previste con inserti in acciaio satinato ,fantastico il sistema di areazione sbrina e schiaccia il parabrezza in breve tempo! Esterni con le nervature accattivanti! Ottimo il consumo della motorizzazione diesel

    Like the review. Had to giggle, as you were strugglung to put the hood holder into the right place. You also pointed out the mediocore insulation. I have the 2011 c4 with the manual transmission and I absolutely hate the fact that it only has 5 gears to switch. Always ending up at 3200 rpm at only 100 km/h. 130 km/h goes up to almost 4000 rpm. That makes the car very loud.

    Thomas, great review as always. How would you compare this to the Mazda 3 and Subaru XV? I think the Citroen is quite 'safe' and maybe a bit bland although the quality looks excellent these days. I am also a bit dubious about a 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder engine!

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 8 lety

      thanks mate! Hmm, it really wasnt a bad car, but to be honest, if you get the Mazda3 for the same price, rather go for that one. XV i havent driven yet!

    I do love your reviews guys. Thy are so well thought out, and I love how you are excited and happy about everything ahaha! Who said the Germans don't have a sense of humour :p I am not sure about this car though. I looked around the Citroen C4 2011 model when I got my Golf mk7, I didn't like it. The French seem to style their cars for form rather than function. I didn't like the visibility, the rear wiper it pathetically small, those headrests should not be for comfort. They are called head restraints, people says "rest's" to shorten it, but it is a common misunderstanding. I think those head restrains are too big and bulky. The quality of the materials in the Citroen are average, not VW standards, and the engine bay looks a mess, not properly painted, I could go on here. Although, they are incredibly comfortable and reasonably priced. If I wanted a more stylish hatachback, I would go for the Seat Leon.

      SS Obersturmbannführer SEAT's cut corners in a few places but the differences is negligible. They don't have as much sound insulation for example, which is the difference between the Skoda Citigo and SEAT MII and the VW UP!, so the extra few hundred quid you pay for the VW not only goes toward the badge. And yeah, you get better discounts at a Citroen dealer because they will not sell as easily as a VW group car.

    Great review! I actually have a C4 model from 2011 and my impression is exactly the same as yours. This is a car for more relaxed than dynamic driving. Did you notice how it handles during side wind? I think the suspension is unfortunately too soft. I think about a change of springs to make the ride a bit more on a firm side. Great job! Cheers.

    I have been driving c4 1.6hdi for the last 6 years...it is flowless on realibility but many things are dissapointment...consumption is high 8l in the city... extensive noise is everywhere...from the roof from the rear side from suspension...the car bumps on rough road like a basketball...seats are tiny and the siting position is not good..headrest is idiotic...rubber on the top of central console is to thick and absorb enormous amount of sun heat so air condition is useless for quiet amout of time...avoid parking on sun...whole driver position is unfriendly for sport driving...manual transmision is disastrous, almost unusable...the clutch pedal is hard to level up...the break pedal is to soft and car produce enormous noise dive when breaking..the steering is ridicolously big and without any feedback from the road..there is so much noise in cabin from cheap plastic loose..extensive noise from everything and everywhere and low quality fit and finish of almost everything are the main cons of this car...all in all the car is step back from my last car which was renault megane 1.5 dci from 2005...it is almost unbeliveable how much better megane was crafted and put it together with much better quality build and way better to drive. I am still driving c4 only because it is reliable..it has 130.000km.

    Hello, i want to know more about Citroen's different transmissions. I had a 2005 C3 semi-automatic and i didn't like it at all. Does Citroen still produces cars with semi-auto transmission? You said that you don't feel gear changes on this car, are other automatic transmissions the same or there's difference between them. Thank You.

    I have experience with this very car, and I can tell you it's really not a perfect car:
    - suspension is really not confortable on the bumpy roads
    - driving 130km/h feels it is already to much for the car as it's really noisy
    - the combination between the manual gearbox and the clutch is far from being otpimal, as you always have to play with the clutch to switch free of jolts
    - the noise isolation from the exterior is really well done, but the isolation from the motor is really bad, so it is still noisy in the car
