  • In this video I explain how to build easy pigeon perches for your loft. These perches are inexpensive, sturdy, easy to mount and move around, and require little to no scraping! I also show our third round of young birds racing homing pigeons. Enjoy!!

    Nice trick with ur passage is that you can have it traps open and close the other birds... That way you can bleach water them when they get into the loft so when they do go into ur lofts they cleaned out

    Will using pigeon perches instead of box perches help keep the birds from wanting to nest and lay eggs? I'm new to raising pigeons and have a very small loft. No room to separate the birds, but all my young birds are pairing up and wanting to nest.

    • @RFRP
      @RFRP  Před 4 lety

      Young birds wanting to pair up is completely normal. If the box perches are deep enough they will use them as nest boxes. Having perches like the ones in this video doesn’t stop young birds from pairing up but it does limit the number of nests (the birds will simply nest on the ground instead).

    How to are yiur pigeon and what is the normal height?

    • @RFRP
      @RFRP  Před 2 lety

      I space the perches 12 inches apart. The birds stand about 8 inches, so that gives them plenty of space.
