- Historic old house built by two bachelor brothers in 1843. Before the mansion was completed there nearby business went bankrupt and then the half finished mansion was sold too a new family who completed it and then remained in the same family until the 1950’s. Sadly has been empty as long as the neighbor could remember. He said even when he was a lil kid it was empty and he was around his mid thirties. Thanks for watching, this place won’t be around much longer sadly

My heart breaks for these once beautiful and loved homes. I want to save them all!
Me too and if I had big coin i would!!
Meee tooo. New shit sucks
Sad to see how beautiful they must have been and how lost they are now. Great job Kappy!
Well said! Thank you for watching! :)
Thankyou for sharing.
Wow, it's such a shame that they let houses like this rot, but who would paint the walls black like that? Cool old house Kappy!! I love the stone house, it still looks solid, until you see the walls have fallen...... That house has some gorgeous features, I bet it was grand back in the day!! I could sit for hours at that babbling brook!! You have a good eye for beautiful nature shots! Thank you for sharing it's always a treat to see one of your new videos!! Peace, Kim ~ P.S. Where's Ruby??
I was about to say that same exact thing along with how beautiful that one chandelier was hanging from the ceiling in the first house along with the beautiful staircase railing and the old dresser . Kappy sure does find the most beautiful places and has the best explanation videos out there.
thinking the same toooo
I wondered about the black paint as well! Bizarre! Thought it was fire damage at first! Ruby has been working a lot but she should be in a video soon!! Thank you for watching!! :)
Probably used as a holloween spook house
Yes, the former owner ran it as a Halloween house.
That blue glass is stunning. We had porcelain knobs in our upper west side pre war apartment in Manhattan. In the 1950s the rent was $150.00 for a 7 room apartment. ( 1915 ). Now they’re between 2-4 million.
hands down you are the best Abandoned House recorder. Keeping the history alive and respecting the homes. You only see the beauty in them.
How sad you couldn’t get to see the other part of the house, as it had collapsed! That fireplace was beautiful!! I hate seeing all the woodwork painted over!! Ceilings were lowered too! Once was a beautiful house! ❤
Agreed! If there was a way too get up to that 3 story tower I would’ve found it! But way too dangerous on the back side! Thanks for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 awesome video! Glad you’re cautious and careful!❤️
I was in that place alot as a kid my best friends grandfather lived there
1843. Wow and now it's a gone!. Stuff they're building now probably won't last 20 years. It's a shame.
I thought the outdoor fireplace on the porch of the second house was a great feature!
They're going to demolish it? Incredible. A lot could still be done with the present remains.
That or it will just cave in on itself like a good bit in the back has already sadly! Just glad it’s documented on video! Very old place! Thanks for watching! :)
At 6:16 in your video, I saw that dresser and it brought memories back. I actually had that dresser as a little girl. What a great find. You can see it's beauty and charm. The second house you showed, 😳... Open concept, one with nature and more less fell in on itself. Thanks again for a great video
I had same dresser for my daughter. French provincial all the rage in the 80s.
It doesn’t matter the color of the walls. If this house was built in the early 1800’s there isn’t much left that is original. The two fireplaces at the beginning of the video are not even close to being that old. Being a retired building inspector I could go on and on but I will sit back, drink a good bourbon and enjoy another nice video from Kappy.
AH KAPPY GIVES ME GREAT JOY FRAME OF BACK GROUND TAKES ME OUT ANOTHER FROM MY HOSPICE BED TY .. PEACE
America, like the Roman Empire was one of, if not THE most powerful, wealthy and beautiful countries and empires on earth, and then greed destroyed us. Look at the homes of then VS now. What America once was is seen in the artwork and beauty of these homes, but has been lost to moral, social and spiritual rot and decay. Thank you for giving us a small glimpse into what our former greatness was.
Thanks so much Kappy for this explore?:) Blast of the past when you had out houses
I was conceived in the upstairs bathroom back in the day 😮
Kappa you film the best abandoned homes, and unlike so many others out there…you film slowly, so you don’t get that “sea sick” feeling when you watch!
I appreciate that! Just want too film old interesting forgotten houses before they are gone! Thanks for watching! :)
Hey Kappy! Well the first house had some great features. The second one was about gone. Scary on those sketchy floors. Be safe. ✌️
Much appreciated for watching! :)
Too bad there wasn't much left of these old homes but still interesting. Thanks, Kappy 😊
Those huge tall porches must be about creating a sense of awe in others I believe.
That first house looked to me like someone had been living there not too long ago. The clothes hanging in the closet didn't look like they were 60+ years old.
Kappy, I am going to have to say that you have the very best videos on CZcams and this is putting it mildly. Your videography is awesome and the way you take time to show as much is amazing for sure. Also how you make the ending of your videos interesting just as well as the main walk-through is truly special indeed. Thank you very much for sharing these super wonderful memories and keep safe friend.
Thanks Kappy, loved the mansion, shame the later addition was collapsing as it would have been great to go up the tower!
I agree! Sure it would’ve had great views of the town back in the day! Shame it’s just a brick shell in the back half now! Thanks for watching! :)
It was breathtaking in the 80s when it was safe
The first home... Can't help but feel a little sad seeing the Christmas tree and childs chair. You know there is always a story with these.
The second home... I know you said from the late 1800's but it almost seems like it could be later judging from the stone exterior and the parts of the foundation and floors which are poured. I suppose that could have been done later though.
Thanks for the upload. Two homes in one video, nice!
Poor old places. The neglect was too much to bare. Both places are done. I'd love to see what is usable out of either one sold off but probably won't. Great video young man! Thanks for taking me along Mr Kappy!
Such a big beautiful home this once was. Thank you Kappy!!
Couldn’t agree more! Thank you for watching! :)
The first house looks like the one from the 50s movie Baby Doll. The front part looks very restorable if you take off that back part that collapsed and built a new section
The first house is STUNNING!!! The architecture, woodwork and those DOORS! Laaaaaawd! The second I’m sure was beautiful as well, it’s in such decay it’s hard to picture it. Love these Kappy! Stay safe and thanks so much! 😊
Couldn’t agree more!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
How sad, that these rich business people couldn't buy it, & renovate it back to it's original state. So many of these beautiful homes sitting empty & deserted. Thank you for the view, stay safe.
Your videos are getting so professional now & the progression has been a joy to watch! Thank you❤️
Too nice of you too say!! Thank you! Glad you enjoy! :)
Thanks for the video! Great houses in disrepair.
Isn't amazing how timeless beauty can be so neglected and unappreciated? I wonder why the family gave it up? And considering how long it's been abandoned, and it's age it doesn't look to bad! I'd love to restore it to the beauty it once was. Second house, not much to see,but it's a great find kappy, thanks💯😎👍
Bless you for being respectful. She was built to last and home to several generations. The bannister, some moldings, door knobs and hinges can be salvaged, but she's pleading to be let out of her misery.
The only thing left of the second house was a nice aerial TV antenna!!! lol
Love the scenery you show us!
I want to put as my comment on every single one of your videos, "This is your best one yet!" Your channel videos and photos are like a visual history of American architecture.
I really love this place. Parts of it seem sound enough to save. The basement wasn't super creepy so there's that! Thanks Kappy. 😁
Agreed! Lots of small windows in the basement for extra light! Always good with me! Thanks for watching! :)
Thankyou for sharing Kappy.
EXCELLENT ! This is one of your top 10.. Stunning. Great Filming and I love all the Spring noises. The stonework was magnificent. Man.. This family was loaded !!❤
Thanks for another great video Kappy!
So sad when treasures are left to rot
Poor Alabama, Mitch Mcconnell destroyed that state. I have the exact same table in the entrance, and I saved it in the 80s from a leaking barn belonging to my inlaws and restored it. I had no furniture at the time and we were moving to my first apt. I wish I could save that one too to have a pair.
It's such a shame that this place has been allowed to deteriorate so badly. It was once a stunning building.
Amazing! Thank you for preserving the beautiful abandoned homes.
Thanks for sharing!! I can only imagine what it could look like today !!
Oh, Kappy breaks my heart to see our history melting away! :( Why do people not sell so another family can fix the houses up? One of your videos the antique bed frames, rop beds left to ruin! Why? When they could have a new life! Too bad we don't have a National foundation to save those that can be saved. Thank you, for showing us these once beautiful homes.
Can you imagine Christmas there in years gone by.😢
Wow when you first walked in I was expecting to see an intact house I bet that place was awesome 😎👍 in it's day
Great video. Thank you for showing this beautiful place.
Kappy This House must be in a low, value Erea,,Because makes know since, There letting a home of this stature,to Just rot away, This is the Kind of homes i restored for the Last 22 years of working,Every piece of lumber was copied and cut,at a special,Mill in maine, and sent back,, In most the Homes you Video, I hardy see leaded glass, It took me 2 years to repair 54 windows, In NY, Lost art.. Great Video Kappy
Wow! That first house is something-can just see the gentry of the day in those rooms...love the detail on the staircase in the second house. Thanks, Kappy, hi Ruby! And if l ever find out who invented that hideous fake wood paneling...😅
You are an excellent videographer!! You show the important things. Absolutely love watching your videos!!!
That was a fun vlog - my favorite was the first one which looked to me like a Greek Revival that had been made over with a Victorian addition. I hope you have a hard hat to wear when you go into these dangerous places. Nice work Kappy!
Loved seeing the clothes and curtains billowing in the breeze - it must’ve been awesome to have sat there on a cool, spring day all those years ago. Sigh. 😊
this room you are talking about reminds me of childhood for some reason.
Enjoyed it!
oh the history these remnants tell, even in their last days. that stone house was a bit of a quandary, collapsing from the inside? usually, the absence of the roof is the hallmark of total deterioration, but there was a glimpse of substantial roofing still intact, high above the ruins. Curious. Those stone walls shall stand long and proud, even as the guts melt away into oblivion.and so it goes...
I bet this house was beautiful...I dont understand why anyone would just let it rot away...Im sure theres so much history with it..its sad...Thanks for the video Kappy!! Love watching your channel!!
hi Kappy, 🌹 thankyou for this new adventure..be careful hon; that pentagram under the table suggests divination.. ppl may have summoned spirits..
On that second house I loved that there was a padlock on that one door and one side of the house had fallen away. It shows you how long it's been since someone had been there.
This house was amazing!
Beautiful 😊 Thank you!
Thank you for watching!! :)
What a shame, the beautiful architecture of this home will be lost forever. Great video.
That just shows what a roof leak will do.
Great video. Beautiful old home. 2 bad it's collapsing & so decayed.
Much luv
Please stay safe
I am at a loss for words 😢 😢 HOLY COW!! Thanks Kappy 😎👍
Some pretty neat looking houses I wouldn't mind seeing the insides of them. To bad all sitting there rotting away. Another great video. Thankyou!!!
The Braxton mansion had a weird vibe. The original parts were beautiful. Strange updates though. The 2nd home was about totaled. You're a brave one! Lol! Thank you Kappy.
Greenville pa 9 north front street
My heart cries that no one wanted to save such beauty. And now as it nears the end, to glimpse into the rooms and imagine.
The fireplace (rt wall) in the front room to the right appeared to be cast iron insert with the original mantle still intact. Is this correct, Kappy?
I also took interest in the exposed brick at the top of the stairs. (As a former special events docent, I learned bricks were in the 1800s made by hand with wet clay and fired locally.)
Last, but not least, is the woodwork that appeared to be approximately 4-6”. I prefer it being white gloss, but to each their own.
If I could save just one in Nashville…
Kappy, it was wonderful!
Happy Wednesday my friend. ❤
Same to you!! Thank ya for watching! :)
Some how I lost the notification for this video.....that brick home was sad ....I loved the inset windows and those cool fireplaces such pretty wood work . That glass in that transom just inside the front door to right 😳 wow so pretty !! Those columns were huge such a cool old home would have loved to see her in her day ....the second one was in surprisingly bad condition I am sure these were once grand homes .....great video as alway's Kappy
One of your best; amazing finds yall
Thank you Kappy, although I feel like I just attended the last "viewing at this house funeral. How
sad;+;
Happy think you for this video
You sure find the good ones!😁
I appreciate that! Thank you very much for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 I watch you in leiu of the news nowadays!!!
Wow, thank you!
How gorgeous you can see how it would have looked. All the features are there.
Enjoying this video😊
Loved your ending videos of the river, etc.
Outdoor views of the old trees and shrubs are as valuable as the homes. Some of the trees shared all the memories of the home.
Very true! The large tree out front of the house was easily as old as the house if not older! Thanks for watching! :)
Holy Pepto Bismol pink bathroom ! It hurt my eyes !
Great videos. 👍
The first house looked in good shape for it age. Very beautiful house. It's sad that none of these are bought to restore. I hope you do videos on the houses at the end. Nice view of sunset.
Hi 👋 Kappy. I have got to find out more about the Braxton Brothers. What a shame seeing the mansion falling apart like this. Ooh, that 2nd one, the stone mansion? Be careful in it Kap. WOW, sad nobody kept up with repairs. That old stone outdoor fireplace is cool. Kind of ahead of it's time. I love 💕 the one at 22:05, with the pretty front porch.and the one at 23:37.
Beautiful photography
This made me so sad....to see these once beautiful homes reduced to rubble.....
You are a brave person, Kappy. It looks like the entire backside of the house collapsed in on itself.
For some unknown reason... that handrail tells me many generations of kids have slid down it's long tail on their way to some task or entertainment.
A shame she's been left to decay, but perhaps irreparable decay was already well under way... sealing her future. In any case, the loss of so many beautifully crafted homes being replaced by nondescript boxes never has made a lot of sense to me.
The brick fireplace is not an old one. It’s probably from the 70’s or80’s. The bricks look very new. If the fireplace was old, the bricks would look somewhat worn or faded. The other give away is the fact that it has a wood stove insert!
WOWWWW KIPPPY awesome find to bad its all wrecked in the back i love old history mansions and antabelums great for studying them great uplaod seee ya soom peace love and rock and roll to soothe my sould always your gratefully deadicated urbex fan
Beautiful old house
That’s a shame such a grand place was left to just rot I bet this was truly beautiful in its time
That 1st house I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cleaner basement. The 2nd house you kept saying this is nuts no you are for even trying to show us that one!! Glad it didn’t collapse on you
Looks good
great job kappy
A very nice bit of decay, guess the second one falls first.
I love the architecture on the first house, Kappy. I read another comment about the black walls. I thought the same thing as you did. fire. But guess not. How nice it would be to have a house like this with your brother. I wonder where that lime green purse came from ? Thank you, Kappy. Wonderful as always
The former owner used it for a Halloween attraction. He's been dead a long time though.
I dont understand how a place like this could set empty so long. I wander who owns the property. I hate seeing houses like this gone to the ruins.
Greetings Kappy!!! Looking so forward to your vid! Diving in now! Lol!
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!! :)
I can cast it to my tv now! Makes it even better! ( I’m older.. cool tech things like that still excite me! Lol)
@@1927su great idea!! So nice that so many TVs are smart TVs nowadays so you can watch youtube from it as well! That’s what I like to do lol! Thanks for watching!! :)
Beautiful old home so sad they can't be save
Hi Kappy. First. Can’t wait to watch
Hi, first house is beautiful. Too much decay and damage, can only imagine how beautiful the house was in its day. What a shame. Heard an odd noise, was that you, wind? Second house is done. Won't be up much longer, shame. If you poked the second house, think it would fall down? Haha! All that scenery and pictures were beautiful. Hello Mr turtle. Great explores.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very Cool !!
