Just heard Ian MacKaye give this song a shout out.
Yes - Kid Congo Powers covered it at Ian’s 50th birthday party (nine years ago). True story.
@@JMarinelli just saw your channel...i dig it....keep rocking, bro. (Ian and i have been corresponding for many years. Don't tell him but he's one of my heroes...lol)
Oh yeah. The drummer from that band.
Major Thread.
The greatest one-single wonder of all-time. Love this song.
In The Past: Garage Rock Podcast sent me here.
I have updated the lyrics, which I think is as close we can get.

It goes to show you even Zanesville and Cambridge Ohio could even rock back in 1966. The song was promoted by Skippy, Jiff, and Peter Pan.
along with The Legend of Tarzan by The Greys Tokes this 45 taken the Bob Dylan memorial prize for lyrical genius. GENIUS.
One of the best tunes of the era😎fuck yeah ......do the things that super man did .Thank you Mr Hoffman. 😂
we all love bolt 24 hot sounds for posting the ultimate in garage Rock
Sounds like Little Black Egg.
I think the same inmediately
Love this cool 60;s tunes
Wonderful early 'Psyche , with insane lyrics ! These guys are what it was all about !!!
It's more Garage than Psych musically although it was DEFINITELY written on drugs (just no other way).
Their Screaming Lord Such cover of Jack The Ripper was not only a hit that could've sent them down the road to fame and fortune; it was also what cemented the band's place among the Godfathers of punk rock! Unfortunately the Vietnam war [draft] would stand in their way. I guess they'll have to settle with my kids (and myself) being their biggest fans! 🤘🎃
Keep rock'n out to The One Way Streets, CZcams! Maybe.... Just maybe.... With enough support and love, we can convince Rick to do a solo jam for us!
Great band, great song. This one and Jack the Ripper were the big selling point for Back from the Grave, Vol. 1
There wasn't any Punk or Metal in the way we have now before about the mid 70s maybe but this kinda predicts it.
@@WocklessGamingforAnimeMoms this sound was the key that unlocked the possibilities for punk, rock, metal and so much more...
If you see the video it"s an anti- LSD tune , came out late / mid 66 when kids were dropping 25 !
Got to see the video !
@@HappyPoppyFlowers-nr4jh you're partially right... Mostly tho, it's meant to be taken very literally. An earlier example of lyrical sarcasm in response to what the band felt was obvious to all who would hear their song.
Insane and intense!!! If Tommy Roe were singing Hooray Hazel and the song went on Acid. This is what it ended up like...We All Love Peanut Butter. That's because the song reached another level.
I'm glad to see another fan! 🤘🎃
This song is awesome, but isn't it strange that the guitar gets quieter when the distortion comes in? Wonderful weirdness
Ian MacKaye brought me here
Ian MacKaye and Nardwuar sent me here....
Nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu nardu
I get to be all the nardvark serve you ups
This kills little black egg. Because we all love peanut butter.
Now you're messin with a son of a paperback writer
My ex father in law would have jammed something like this. I think my aunt would have, too. Seems strangely familiar.
Who the hell gave this a thumbs down?
He don't love peanut butter 😪
Bunch of stuff about peanut allergies
People with ears
@@newfoundmoralclarity .. Propped up with peanut butter :P
Love lazzini lyrics I hear some Tommy Roe song in there if this was bubblegum music it would be double bubble
me and my dad used to jam the fuck out to this song. i can't believe i forgot. oh, sweet nostalgia. things are different now.
Little black egg ?
Good call
whoever thinks this song is discriminatory against people with peanut allergies should just lighten up this was a song just a fun song with zany lyrics and by the way how is this song a form of discrimination
Irony escapes you
This song is almost certainly a reference to the Peanut Butter and Mayonnaise Panic of 1969. Google it.
It was recorded in 66.
@@joshpell3854 Psh, like that's an issue for One Way Streets.
Funny ass number
We All Love 'We All Love Peanut Butter' ! Avant-Garde?
love the zany lyrics sounds a bit like Tommy roll and if this is bubblegum music
Going to cover this real soon
Joseph Sakoilsky, that would be awesome! Please do share it if you do... I don't think my dad believes me when I tell him that his music is still attracting fans. :-)
@The Hook I'll give him the message (since I'm just now noticing your reply)... My apologies for taking so long to reply.
Below is a recently uploaded JTR video with a still-pic of the band... Rick (aka Dad) is the one on the far left.

Beatles
Well.. I'm not sure if "and jelly" would have saved this one, "butt" thanks anyway
This song is infuriating and discriminatory against everyone with peanut allergies. How could you be so insensitive?!
Haaaaaaaa haaaaaaa good one!!!
Sure it isn't "With your bird in hand"?
Also, I don't hear "diVe" & it's more profound as "Boys just die..." anyhow
One of the guys from the band posted the lyrics on a board (which I can't find now) a couple of years ago. I swapped one word (clearly not what is actually sung) but it's not that word.
Interesting
More likely "With Pen In Hand It's Written On The Page" actually.
***** Yes "With your pen in hand...." sounds right but I'd swear it's "girls they die"
The Beatles went downhill.
Only a Fool would stay up there.
Sorry I don't like peanut butter not my bag but this song is cool
