Here are 10 common Latin grooves played on the drum kit.
The idea of many Latin time patterns is to imitate a entire percussion section (shakers, congas, timbales etc.) using the standard drum kit. A cowbell might be necessary!
As with most drum beats, there are many variations upon each of these patterns - the videos shows just one pattern for each so you get the basic idea.

Thanks for the great lesson!
Maravilhoso. Seria ótimo se publicassem também para metais, no meu caso estou desenvolvendo aprendizado de sax tenor, grande abraço.
Thank you for your great videos. Can I ask what application or software do you use to make these scores? I teach a different kind of music and I need to create custom exercises for my students.
Class. Any afro Cuban ones?
Actually I meant afrobeat.

Best explanation for the new drum learners
I wouldn't follow this. Please listen to real players who play the style you want to learn instead. The grooves shown in this video are lifeless and inauthentic. The samba in particular is bad-it is not even close to a real samba.
Go watch Raphael Burata's lesson on samba, or Edu Ribeiro has a good lesson with Open Studio. Or Gina Knight has a really good intro lesson too.
I'll slightly correct myself-the samba beats are weak but not thaaat bad. At least the second one is mostly acceptable.
However, for a new player, it's still really bad. Please go watch real drummers play instead of reading drum patterns from sheet music. Latin music isn't meant to be learned through sheets (they can be helpful resources, but you really need to learn by ear or you'll miss the all-important details)
No salsa or merengue?
It would be great to have slow. Tempo as well as fast for us beginners
Go to you tube settings and adjust playback speed.
Can you play drum for country music please
Songo could be a djent beat!
