    トンファーのような構えで防御と武器としての攻撃を併せ持った感じ。攻撃は最小限に気を払っている感じが武術としての奥深さを感じさせてくれる。

tbh this didn’t actually exist when the sai was made, the sai was a law enforcement weapon made in japan and was used like a western baton and was never actually for stabbing, the end is actually blunt and quite rounded and was only used to swing at criminals, the edges are obviously for blocking weapons and sometimes could even snap/bend weapons and there was no martial arts that tought how to use the sai

There weren't any bo Kata when people started hitting each other with sticks. Doesn't mean that sakugawa no kon has no historical significance though.
Fyi I am not familiar with this specific sai kata, I just think your comment is stupid.

Imagine being poked by one of those 'blunt' ends. You do not think that much force focused into a small point wouldn't be incredibly damaging? What would you rather step on your foot, a shoe or a stiletto?

The Japanese version of this weapon is Jitte and I had one side hook . The sai comes to Okinawa from China actually .
All Kata whether new or ancient were made up by someone, somewhere at some point in history.
