Ok the London house, the estate agent said keeping the original features really help in keeping the price up if u sell, but they kept nothing except the stairs. It looks nice if u like that modern style, which I do not. I mean the extensions is great. I'm not big on open floor plan. I'm from the USA and I hate that open floor plan crap here. I lived in England for 7yrs and I loved having separate rooms. I don't understand about the apt building and not being aloud to see the apts that r rented. They r only renters. If I bought a building I have the right to do a walk through of those apts and make sure nothing crazy is going on in there. I think if u make an appointment with the tenant and do a quick walk through and also it gives the tenant a chance to ask questions or any issues they may be having. I would have done those 2 flats differently though. They were very claustrophobic.

sewforlife: To go into a rented property you need to make an appointment, which might not coincide with the TV chanel's time schedule. Also, renters have the right to say No, especially if the visit is going to be filmed as they have a right to their own privacy and not let 5 million people see how they live. Just think, how would uou like 5m people walking through your appartment? not nice.

I interpreted the new buyer mentioning that he got an 'inspection report' for the unseen flats means that an inspector recently looked at them.

@@joline2730 well I am a immaculate house keeper and I have no clutter in my apt and it is very tastefully decorated so I would have no problem at all, besides I do not own it, I only rent so the owner has every right. Someone is not going to buy a property that they can't see.

To Sew for Life: Buying a house unseen is rather stupid, I must admit - but you would be surprised at the amount of people who do just that !! I can only speak for th UK by the way. What I said before about the tenant not allowing people into the property is English Law. Yes the owner has a right to enter but ONLY by appointment.

@@joline2730 I get the appt. It's the same in the USA. I lived in the UK for 7yrs and owned 2 houses while I was there. One had a small cottage that was rented. When we made an appt to view the house I told the realtor to make an appointment with the renters at the same time which she did. Renters can be totally disrespectful of rental property. If your going to buy property u have the right to see all of it is all I'm saying .
