    See Disney's newest animated classic come to life at the Backlot Theater. A cast of medieval-style puppets, 19 live performers and a series of elaborate set changes brings the story of the bell-ringer Quasimodo and the beautiful Esmeralda to life. Almost 25 years since I saw this show live at the Backlot Theater and I still get chills and tears watching it. Some days during its run I would attend multiple shows. A heartfelt THANK YOU to any and all of the incredibly talented Cast Members who might read this. THANK YOU!!

    I’m so happy I found this!!! We loved this show so much!! One of the best shows ever at WDW. During our vacations would actually go into MGM some days just to see this show and then go to a different park. We still talk about it and miss it. Such amazing talent and production ❤️

      Disney MGM was such a great park. I remember during a late '94 trip there my hubby & I went to the animation studio & were able to watch the animation team working on the then upcoming movie Pocahontas which was really awesome! When Disney closed that animation studio IMHO that park lost one of its best attractions!

    I feel sorry for Quasimodo's mother, she was trying to keep her infant son safe. Frollo was a merciless adoptive parent. He abused poor Quasimodo, manipulated him into thinking he was ugly, and locked him away from the world outside his whole life. No wonder Quasimodo's low-spirited and friendless. He's never had a friend before until Esmeralda arrived. The only friends he's ever had were the gargoyles, Victor, Hugo, and Laverne. And the only person he's seen everyday was Frollo. That just makes me cry. The only people who condoned his actions against the Gypsies were Esmeralda and Phoebus. There's just one problem: Phoebus was trained to follow Frollo's orders and was too afraid to stand up to him.

    • @PianoDisneygal10
      @PianoDisneygal10 Před rokem +2

      Here’s something extra to make you sad: In the Papermill stage musical version (not sure about the original Victor Hugo novel), Frollo is Quasi’s uncle. Quasi’s dad and Frollo are brothers.

    • @maxinezook3835
      @maxinezook3835 Před měsícem

      Quasi's mom deserves as much credit & honor as Nani from Lilo & Stitch. The fact she kept her baby son & protected him for as long as she could showed she had a very big heart. He surely did have the signs of his deformities even as a baby & back in those days I'm sure others, even among her family & friends, likely encouraged her to abandon or unalive him due to his challenges, some even perhaps thinking he was evil because of his problems.
      But his mother never failed to see the good in him & I like to think she was a guardian angel who helped keep him alive & hopeful until he could meet up with Esmeralda & ultimately get the happy ending ending he wished for😇

    Esmeralda has that big 90’s hair (since the movie was made in the 90s) so here she’s wearing a huge curly wig but how come her hair is so little now? What does Disney have against big curly hair?? They did it before why not again? In the movie she was known for her huge hair! 😡

      Because it’s not exactly a child friendly song. And while, yes, it was in the movie, a theme park stage show is generally going to be designed to have wider appeal. A song about a psychopathic, racist judge who is so afraid about going to hell for having a hard on that he resolves to resolve that issue by either killing the innocent woman he’s crushing on, or by forcing her to basically marry him….isn’t gonna make the cut.
