wow it worked like a charm! Macbook pro mid 2012 i7 processor, the temperature dropped from 75-76 to 50s in celcius, even 48-49 sometomes! I was thinking to sell the computer because of the overheat issue but I will keep it longer!

Amazing guide, think I'll put some AS5 in there!

You forgot to reconnect the microphone cable to the motherboard at 5:17 which is on the same side as the CPU/GPU heat sink. It's fairly tedious to reconnect due to orientation.

Some of these videos are cuts and not all are perfect, it's just to give you an idea of a rough walkthrough.

How did you end up re-connecting it? I haven't been able to.

it turned out to be quite easy except reconnecting the power cable after cleaning. performance improvement is subtle and really satisfying. its running at 58-60 C now so idk if its ok. but i think its fine. i used htk200 cooler master paste

Amazing tutorial, I followed every step to the letter but used a Carbonaut thermal pad from Grizzly instead of thermal paste on my MacBook Pro 15" from late 2011. Now running much cooler and quieter. I did nothing specific regarding Microphone disconnection and reconnection but it still works, was that a necessary step? Thanks again for a great video!

Sounds like it's getting overheated. Did you reconnect the fan?

Where is the temperature sensor of sink head?

It's on the logicboard, you will have to download the schematic for it if you want to find it.

This was so fantastically useful, thanks! (Is there a PayPal or buy-me-a-coffee link where I could send you a few $ as a thank you? It saved my ancient MBP :-)
