+Cules Americano I don't think it's because of that. The problem is deeper. I thought Indians genetically lack athletic abilities but I could be wrong since there are different races in India with different levels of physical abilities and people from North-east or Punjab are known to be strong and athletic. I guess it is the training and infrastructure that we lack and let's not forget the mindset of people. Most in India have ambitions to become doctors and engineers, youths do not take up sports easily.

If you have only one player out of 11 that has some quality, how can you make it to the World Cup.
No one considers India a sleeping giant ( Netherlands in other hand is) , Just because your country population is huge doesn't make your country a sleeping giant of football.
To become one sleeping giant you need to achieve something like a final or semi final of Asian championship or actually reach a World Cup and do something , not just walk around and get smashed

I pretty much agree with FIFA here. We actually do have money. Our government is not willing to spend it's time and capital on the team. Even cricket, the most played sport in India, wasn't promoted at the early ages of India's independence from the British. It's just a matter of time. Once the Indian team prove themselves to the nation and the government, I'm sure we will reach great heights. 'The sleeping giants of world football' is a good title, because there is going to be one day when the world will look at us not just with respect, but with the interest and courtesy to watch The Beautiful Game.

The truth it that the education system in India is stopping the progress of the country (in terms of sports). The country only focuses on studies and not other aspects of life. People study just because they need a job afterwards. There is no creativity among the people. People who want to do something different are not supported. If Mbappe was Indian he would have never been on that stage of representing his country in football's biggest platform in such a young age, he would have been just another engineer in our country. The education system is trash. I'm in 10th grade and I don't have time to play because I have to give the 'board exams' which will decide my 'future'. As I belong to a middle class family of general category I have to work because I need to be in a good college to secure my future. Education system is shit which just focuses on learning. That is why a country like Island is able to qualify for the world cup with such small population and the second most populous country could not.

Cricket is fantastic but I think money needs to be spent in other sports to help broaden the horizon for athletes who want to pursue a dream in something. That means their options should be open to a variety of sports (knowing they can be successful in it) not just one.

It will be very kind of you and will be very much helpful for the viewers to recognise the teams if you can have some sort of guidelines, I mean the colour of the Jersey along with the name. In the world cup you were good enough to have some sort of indication along with the names of the teams. If we happened to switch on the TV a bit late, either we have to wait for a goal or for the Half Time whistle. For a person like it is hardly difficult to recognise the teams with the colour of their country flags. Today, I am happy to see the name of their country on the Jury, but this is not seen followed by all the teams.
    Thank you,
