Imma NU fan but you can't just deny these blocks and especially the digs from these ladies in green. Such a BANGER game!! Kudos to both teams!
NU's low fast sets make it predictble for the green side. Their blockers are tall and agile.
it works with ADMU tall but slow.
It works with Adu and UST same lang average height of 3 teams, kaya di ganun katangkad blockers , ubra talaga low fast set.
May dynamic style ng setting ang Thai team when playing against tall teams like Italy, China Japan hindi lahat ng set nila Pornpun at yung sikat din dati si Nootsara , di lahat ng set nila sa spiker eh kaya ibalik o kill block ng kalaban nila.
So NU setter must be agile sa pasa ng bola.
This is the quality volleyball that we deserve. Grabe ang puso ng bawat team. Hands down kay Angel. Really a heaven-sent. Shev playing under pressure. Amie, providing quality minutes. Fifi hyping the crowd. Really the best game for them. I noticed in this game that their floor defense is not on point. Kudos to their blockings tho. Jolina her offense is nowhere but her digs and reception are very commendable. Bawi next game Jols. For NU naman very stable ang Defense and Offense. Jardio, very dependable. Grabe this finals match-up will go down in history. Hope to see these kind of game in the next season. Prayers for Sheena Toring, hope it's not a serious injury.

What a match!!! Definitely one of the best finals matches in UAAP volleyball. Both teams banking in on their strength, NU with their attacks and DLSU with their blocks. DLSU tho were able to utilize it better in the latter part of the game. It's just sad that it led to an anti-climactic ending. That injury was heartbreaking as well as that error from NU. Still, Congrats DLSU! Get well soon Sheena, hope it's nothing serious and we see you on game 2👀

This match is epic GAME 1 pa lang 5 dramatic sets agad. Both teams played valiantly.
But DLSU is so precise in their game execution and consistent with their net defense 🎉
NUs strategy on going for long balls on the service really worked well lalo na sa 1st set. Same strategy deployed by UST. Weakness talaga ng DLSU ang receive on long balls. And ung mga nagtatanong why Shevana is not inside the court for all of 5 sets, the reason is need cya i cover sa receive. Canino is covering for her most of the time. Sobrang nakakapagod un both mentally and physically for Angel. Trabaho pag nasa harap, todo trabaho pa din sa likod. I'm sure extra emphasis sa receive during practice ang DLSU this week. Need nila ng magandang receive to activate Gagate and Sharma. If DLSU receives well, half the battle is won already.
As much as may impact si Provido sa game, I still prefer Sharma over her. Reason? Blocking and service. Provido is better in attacking but Fifi has less lapses in their blocking schemes, at least she challenges the attacks most of the time and she collaborates well sa wings. May butas pa din but better than what Provido can offer at this point.
If pinanood mo highlights lang you would think NU nanalo. If stats lang nakita mo akalain mo NU nanalo. I would say lamang ang DLSU sa intensity with Angel, Jolina and Alba really showing their emotions. Sa laro ng Volleyball it helps the team a lot. You call it swag o anupaman but in volleyball even in the 90s uso na kantyawan. Even in practice or games. Ung pag celebrate lang like pag takbo to huddle in or celebrate with your teammates takes a lot of energy but also lifts each other to continue to fight for each point. Watch DLSUs celebration vs NU on very important points in a rally. Subtle differences but it goes along way.

I agree with the commenter about Fifi over Amie. Fifi’s intensity, experience is a big plus. Especially, nahihila nya yung blocker gitna so angel has space to go for her spikes. Amie is still a rookie but very promising. Hasain lng yung defense nya both sa net at fd. Although steady server si Fifi but Amie’s serve is fast, heavy and deadly (high risk, high reward nga lang). Laput has to take advantage of her height. Above the blocker tlga sya most of the time. Mars need to work on her connection w Shev. Sya tlga game changer. Bella and Angel cancel each other out. Pareho magaling. Hat’s off sa 2. Ma error yung isang oh pati na rin si Solomon but explosive. While si Jolens nag dip performance nya. She made it up sa fd nya. Lamina’s setting is top notch. While si alba mukhang kinabahan kaya bumalik s84 setting nya. I believe la salle’s confidence going to game 2 is high. So it is their game to lose come sunday. As for NU, dito ma tetest yung mental fortitude nila. PLUS paano magbalasa si coach Karl. Coah Ramil is just GOAT. Sanay na sanay sa 5 setters and finals games’. Yung panalo dito is tayong mga FANS!!! So iwas na sa booing kasi mga friends yang mga players outside sa court. Let’s enjoy this series.

Both teams are highly skilled. However, I noticed that DLSU has an advantage in having a coaching staff that values perfectionism. They prioritize minimizing service errors, ensuring blockers jump to block, and emphasize discipline in blocking. On the other hand, NU appears to be more relaxed about making errors and compensating for them with their spiking ability, but this did not work out in the first game. I am curious to see how NU will recover in game 2 by reducing their errors, while DLSU needs to improve their attacks and maintain consistency in all areas.

Game changing strategy by DLSU in set 4, they changed the rotation with Angel starting at zone 4. Traditional set up. Made them start better and not fall behind on points early.

I am a DLSU fan since season 69 and masaya na nanalo sila dito. Ang solid ng blockings ng DLSU. Solid din ang atake NU. Vangie Alinsug on the other hand, kailangan niya matutunan yung mahahabang palo especially #1 blocking team nasa harapan niya. Nakaibabaw na sya pero sa taas ng DLSU blockers dinidikdik niya pa din palo niya. Sana matutunan niya mga haba habang palo soon.

Its not a battle of players anymore.. its all about, battle of the coaches. Parehas magaling ang players ng both team. Unlike season 84 lamado ng NU players. Ngayon kitang kita ang galing ni coach ramil over kay coach karl. Sa rotation and diskarte, angat na angat. Sana makapag adjust si coach karl para umabot ng game 3. Nice game for both teams...😊😅
S84 was NU’s season since super tight ang NU since NSNU days nila kaya gamay na gamay nila plays ng bawat isa unlike DLSU during s84 super konti ng preparation of training due to covid and also ito rin yung time na nawalan na talaga sila ng senior/s like michelle cobb (correct me if I’m wrong, if not don’t correct me char🤣) while this season ito talaga ang redemption year ng DLSU lalo na for CRDJ💚🏹 grabe yung coaching style talaga ni CRDJ and the rest of his coaching staff💚 one more game to go Lady Spikers💚🏹
Overall, great UAAP season. All the teams really digged in.
