Normally, I'm not a fan of remakes like this of songs I've fallen in love with, because, more often than not, they change what it was I loved about the original and it turns out not quite as good.
This one, however, you managed to take one of the best songs of your Stargazers album and make it simply better.
It is difficult to think of anything better I could have asked for on my birthday.

This is probably one of my personal favorites from Acoustic II. It gives me a totally new perspective on how I see the original track. I mean, yes, it's main focus is that it's sad, but, as if this was something much more deeper. The tone is soft & somehow heartwarming & heartbreaking at the same time. Adding Ashes into this fits the song so perfectly, as well. In the end, probably my favorite acoustic track you've made Avi!

I love you Avi and all of the songs that you do. You, I have to say, gave me the most inspiration to continue singing. Even though I am no where close to how amazing you are, your songs continue to push me forward. I love how you are not the mainstream type of singers talking about money, drugs, sex, etc. Instead, you sing your heart out to what YOU feel is right and it turns into amazing heartfelt and emotional music that I would never stop loving. Keep doing what you're doing and you're gonna go far, I promise that!

Holy fuck this guy is good. I love "Remains" and how you made a full length track out of the feelings evoked by a single part of a game. There's a word somewhere for it: where you take the feeling or emotions of a single moment, whether it be movie, game, song, etc, and expand that single moment into a full length piece of music. I felt like the acoustic of Wolves was like an end credits reprise. This feels like a calm before the storm reprise. A storm that one doesn't expect to survive. The final storm. But a coming storm that one is willing to give their life to stop.
Wolves kind of matches Fallout protagonists in general, especially the ones with good Karma. Apocalypse State of Mind makes me think the most of Fallout 3. Part of that may be bias, as it's my favorite Bethesda Fallout. But given the original ending, before Broken Steel was released? I think this matches FO3 the best. The new lyrics thrown in for the bridge after the chorus reflect this perfectly. They tell me this: "Nothing else lives forever. What would make me so special? But there are things left in the world that are worth dying for. Just like what I mourn from my past". Momento mori, Lone Wanderer.
In short? Easily the contender for my favorite Aviators song. It gives Let There Be Fire good competition, though I dare not choose one over the other. Haunting beautiful.

Most of the songs on Acoustic II have references borrowed from other songs. Since they're both apocalyptic in theme and have the same chord progression, it just fit there.
