Just to clarify, it’s not Vinland Saga that has been airing for 9 years, gotten 53 nominations and 0 wins. That was Better Call Saul. I just edited Thorfinn’s face on the original image with BCS as a meme. Vinland Saga has been airing for over 4 years, gotten 15 nominations and at least won 1 award for “Best Drama” in 2020.
However, I’m extremely disappointed that it didn’t receive a single award this year and got robbed by Jujutsu Kaisen. Anyway, this is just a popularity contest, so who cares?

I think it's more than just a popularity contest, especially for mangakas and animators. Getting an award is like a recognition of one works and efforts. Obviously, the results of such contest won't have much impact on you or any random people, but I can see how it could be sickening for a creator to see such disregards over their work, and how much these constest system are badly designed.
This year awards really felt like the more known movie contests like the Festival of Cannes where it's just blatently obvious that rewards are given not to people that deserves it but to people with interest. It's getting to a point where we can wonder if there's any value in these awards at all.

I just liked the more cinematic directing of CSM more and felt that Vinland saga’s second season was overall more compelling than it (in large part due to how heavenly delusion left things much less conclusively where as Vinland saga felt like such full experience)

I genuinely enjoyed JJK season 1 and even part 1 of season 2, but the mangaka has decided to kill off any character that becomes more popular than Itadori and made the story trash.

I just wanna say that at the end of the day none of this award shit matters in the slightest. We are blessed to have even gotten such a beautiful adaptation that is not only faithfull to the source material but also improves upon it significantly. And I get that people seek validation in these award but seriously this shouldn't be a reason to ruin your mood guys. If there's anything Thorfinn's character has taught us its to not hold grudges. We don't have enemies.

I think most of the fans didn't even know what part of JJK they even Voted for. They should declare the numbers of episodes in the description of the Anime when you vote for them. Or even better, let the Jury make the last decision. There could be something like a Community Award next year or so. Like this it's just not fair. Not just that but the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen still aired like shortly before the voting started and other Anime like Chainsaw Man didn't even air in 2023 makes it even more unfair. It's just more recent and everybody remembers JJK better than most of the other Anime.

If I had to give a solution for this I would make seasonal Awards or at least half time awards so. There could be smaller events maybe just Online without a show, just Animated with an presenter. It's not really a surprise to be honest. Anime watchers tend to skew younger in the overwhelming majority. So mature character dramas don't get too popular unless there's tons of action.

The worst thing is that JJK was nominated only for hidden inventory arc ( first 5 ep) and shibuya arc will be there next year still fans voted this 5 ep anime rather than 24 ep peakland saga.
And for best MC - I don't care who wins either luffy or thorfinn. Both are my favourite but as a character I prefer luffy. I can't say why because I don't wanna spoil as Nick isn't caught up to one piece.

To be fair, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards has been a popularity contest for a while now, if not since its inception.
Anime is in the day and age now when it is the most popular. However, anime is also in a place where people just care about fights, gore, sexy female characters and fast paced story. Shonen is the most accepted form of anime that most consume. However, there is so much more in anime. Amazing stories like if they were a movie they'd win oscars. Monster, Vinland Saga, Vagabond, Berserk, Pluto, goodnight punpun. So on! And facts! Awards shouldn't be fan votes 🤣🤣 that's the most stupid thing yo exist. Fans aren't professional critics, most ride hype train. Of course, it will always be Dbz (dead anime btw), one piece, jjk, so on. It's stupid but it's because that's the vote so the animes that are made by small studios or small underrated manga will barely even the light of day! It's pathetic! Awards should be to shine spotlight on smaller projects, stories, characters who are in depth, themes, messages so on. Fan voted awards are just a joke that i don't even care about ✌🏻

Vinland Saga Season 2 was the best anime for me. Although only the early stories have been made into anime, it is an anime that I love as much or more than Attack on Titan. Works that are loved by a wide range of people, from children to adults, are often certified as bestsellers. To achieve this, the story needs to be easy to understand, flashy and dramatic to some extent. However, what is called a bestseller is not necessarily the best story. I hope that those of you who love Vinland Saga will share the wonderfulness of this story with your friends and fans.
You're 100% correct. Award shows should not be fan voted. Any vote where the voters know nothing about half the options is ridiculously unfaired and doesn't represent the quality of the nominations.

Anime of the year was one of the few categories they get right every year. Yuri on Ice (2017), Made in Abyss (2018), Devilman Cryababy (2019), Demon Slayer S1 (2020), JJK S1 (2021), AoT S4 (2022), Cyberpunk (2023) all were deserved but this was Vinland Saga’s year. There was nothing that remotely came close it. JJK S2 sure was great but I can’t defend it winning over Vinland Saga and what many people don’t get is they are not even counting the Shibuya arc 🤦🏻♂️ these awards were much better before anime became mainstream and specially after the pandemic it’s losing credibility with each passing year. I won’t be surprised if JJK wins next year too

Everyone who voted for JJK actually voted for the Shibuya Arc. Even Crunchyroll put the poster of the second part on some of the categories. These results are pure jokes. JJK simply shoudnt be nominated next year since they already made everything in their power to make them win the most. When I think about the fact that SNK final part One wasnt even nominated or that Vinland Saga Lost in front of an arc of 5 episodes (that were great to be honest, much better than the Shibuya overrated arc, but still)..

I just got into the first season of Vinland Saga in Feburary & the fact it didn't win hurts my soul. I will admit I didn't vote for it, but only because I knew nothing about this series & I didn't want to get myself spoiled from it since I want to go into this story completely blind, & I'm feeling a pang of regret for not voting for this series. 😭😭😭 Thorfin is the best!
