- Welcome to my art studio! This is how I store my large canvas rolls that includes my zodiac series. Many thanks to my art scanning company, Bellevue Fine Art Reproductions, for their amazing work and recommending this method. Something I learned when shipping paintings is to roll them with the paint side facing out, it prevents cracking when you unroll them. Beautiful work by the way!
I've never had issues with cracking from this method, but I think that's a great tip to consider. Thanks! 💕
Yep this is absolutely the correct way. watching her roll here work this way isn't respectful to herself and her practice
my gosh your painting are stunning!!
love the Scorpio (not just because I
happen to be one) but the sexyness
and tones, colors, and overall concept
of your work!! Excellent!! God bless
Aawww, that really means a lot to me! My husband is a Scorpio, so they have a special place in my heart 💖 Thank you so much
Your happiness is contagious!👏👏
Aawww, thanks so much!! I'm happy to share smiles ☺ I appreciate you for watching!
Thank you for your ideas. I just have to say the correct way of storaging paintings wraping them around a cilinder is with the painting on the outside part of the cilinder you make.
Good point! Otherwise, if it cracks over time, when you unwrap it will be very visible and might ruin it!
I have the same concern
Do you mean exactly opposite of the way she is doing in this video?
Thank you for sharing this! So helpful to see how you do this!
You're a lifesaver! I gotta move with some very large pieces, and now I know exactly what I'm going to do!
Beautiful work! Great storage info!
Your work is absolutely beautiful!!! Besides the storage ideas…your video definitely gave me some much needed inspiration!!! Thank you!!! I have some astrological pieces that I’ve been working on and I was struggling for the color palettes for the last five. Thank you for your help!!!
Thank you so much for doing this video! Not only did you teach me what I need to do with my art, you have inspired me to unroll my canvas and quit tacking it on wood. I’m getting ready to move and I had no idea how I was going to do it.
I'm so glad! Happy to help
You are really inspiring! Love your paintings and thank you for sharing!

My pleasure! 💘 Thanks for watching
Thank you!
Damn, you’re paintings are breath taking! Where do you get your canvas cloth from? Is it cotton or linen? And how do you know what to look for?
I like the vibe of the video. Also amazing storage idea.. 😌
Thanks so much! 💘More to come
I love your channel! Lol Im June 6 girl. Love and Light from Australia 🌛🤍🌜❤
Very helpfull! And cute vid
Hi Aramis! Thanks so much for making this video, it was super helpful and just what I was looking for 😊 I’m curious, do you know if there is a certain length of time that rolled paintings can be stored like this before it could cause damage? Or are they good to go for a while? Thanks!
Thanks 👍
Hi your work are very stunning, I am also a self taught artist but wanted to learn to paint in large rolled canvases. You inspired me to do this,, May I know where did you buy these canvases? and the tube you use to roll/store the canvasses? Please and thank you
Wow. Stunning work. I wish I had to room to go large. Do you find your canvases shrink during painting? Do you attach them to a stretcher bar before you begin?
Thanks! You have great paintings, loved them! 🥳 Wish more subscribers for your channel 😜 and success for you as an artist 🥳
Thank you so much 😀
Some love and some questions: 😄
❤️Super helpful 🙏🏼 I love your commentary 😆
Beautiful artwork also
❓Do you varnish the paintings before they are stored?
Hello Aramis, I am new to your site and beautiful work! I question is the painting process. Do you buy primed canvas and what types paints to you use when painting? I have wanted to use the canvas rolls but needed some direction on starting. Thanks for any suggestions or a video showing your process would be appreciated.
Going toward mural 😀Hard to scale down after working larger. Lots of storage needs for larger works.
😂😂 you the best!
I don't know what algorithm brought me here, but im here to stay sis!
Yaasss, so glad 🤗 Welcome!
Hi A. O. Hamer.!! Thank you so much ❤️
Amazed to get such information in this video. Sure it will be helpful for me. Just wanted to ask you that when you painted these huge canvases, were these mounted on frames?? And if yes, did you remove canvas from frame just to store for long because storing framed paintings take more space?? 😊
Sweet, so glad it was helpful for you. 🤗For the ones showed in this video, I didn't frame them at first. I staple them to the wall with a staple gun and paint the canvas directly on the wall. Once complete and dry, I roll them up for storage. When it's time for an art show, I do stretch them on stretcher bars. In this video, I show how I uninstall and remove the canvases from the bars.💕czcams.com/video/taN1rDobgEU/video.html
Hi, love ur series and I’m a newbie to ur channel so sorry if this question has been repeated…do u finish ur paintings w a top coat or sealant? If so, what and how does that stand up to the rolling/unrolling w storage and does it change how u put them up on stretcher bars for shows. If you’ve covered this previously feel free to redirect me to an episode #. Ty for taking the time to do all this! It’s super helpful and u have an awesome spirit about u!
Welcome to the channel! I do varnish my paintings once they are stretched with Liquitex Satin or Gloss Varnish. Once they are varnished, I don't re-roll the paintings. I worry that the painting/varnish will get damaged if I re-roll them after that sealant coat. But I'm super curious about this so I plan on doing an experiment and making a video of it. Hope that future video can answer both of our questions 😉
Loving your zodiac art and your vids! Can you please advise me - how long do you wait for the paintings to dry before you think it's safe to roll them?
Thanks much! Acrylic dries pretty fast so it doesn't take long but I wait a few days to make sure the paint is cured 👌🏾
@@aohamer thank you x
Will acrylic paint crack when you roll it? Think oil paint should be ok
I’m an acrylic fluid practitioner. Wonder if roll up would crack my paintings
Lovely painting and mesmerising Artwork. Can we roll impasto work also? I am dreading it cause it might damage the modelling relief texture.
I'm not sure, but I don't recommend it - especially if your layers of paint is very thick. Maybe test it with a small scrap painting. Happy to help 💝
Hey Aramis.....at first u r so Beautiful ❤.......nd so ur works are❤🙏🏻......so inspiring......................just a little query can we store oil painting in the similar manner as well ??..........
Keep creating and inspiring ....Lots of Love ❤❤🌸🤗🤗
I'm not familiar with oils. Maybe another oil painter can chime in to help us out 🤗 Thanks for watching!
How would you re stretch the paintings onto stretcher bars once painted? I’ve never removed canvas o store a painting once stretched before .
I also haven’t tried to roll a painting once painted and no idea if the paint would allow it. Hope to paint bigger once I have the space
Acrylic doesn't crack when rolled in a log like this? Please reply ... I am so anxious now. I have a large painting that I already created it needs to be shipped overseas. I am worried if I start to roll it would crack and peel . Any advice please?
No worries, it won't crack if done right. I dedicated a whole video to those questions. Check it out here: czcams.com/video/3Pv6df3XmSY/video.html
Hey your work is amazing👏. I came across your video as i was looking into how to store rolled canvasses. just wondering as i see in alot of videos they seem to roll them with the painting on the outside so it doesn't crack the painting and not too tight. just wondering if you ever came across this process. going to subscribe now. thanks
Hey there, welcome to the Tube Team💖 That seems like a good tip as well. I haven't had any problem with the paint cracking from rolling with the face in. The PVC has helped to keep it from collapsing on itself and potentially making hard edges where cracks would form. I do use GOLDEN acrylic paints so I'm not sure for oils - just wanted to mention that. Thanks much for subscribing!🤗
@@aohamer thanks for the reply. cool, looking forward to seeing more of your work and advice. cheers
What medium do you use, oil or acrylic? I just started painting on rolled canvas, need a few tips.
Nice! I use acrylic paint; GOLDEN is my favorite brand 🤗
Have you ever applied any product over your painted canvas (before framing it)?
No, I haven't varnish them before rolling. I'm going to make another video testing out that process 💝
do you stretch the canvas on the wall somehow before painting?
Yes, I staple the raw canvas to the wall. While it's on the wall, I prime the canvas with gesso which stretches it nice and tight. Then it's ready for paint 🤗 Thanks for watching!
thanks! i thought i should never roll my painting 😀 loll
Like a lot. Isn't supposed to be with the painted surface to the outside? Just to be sure I am not ruining my work.
What kind of canvas is that
How do you stick your large canvas with the wall? Is it tape?
I staple it with a staple gun. I share more in my Canvas 101 video 🤗
How to prevent acrylic painting from cracking when rolled up ?
Roll them with paint side facing out.
Your channel is official and as I’m writing this I just head you a Gemini!!! Me too! June 3rd! Do you have IG?
Aaayyyee, Gemini twins!!! 🙌 June 5th! Yes indeed, my IG is @mis_liberation. Thanks for the love 💘
Do you do your own scans of your artwork?
No, I have them done by a scan company out here in Washington: www.bellevuefineart.com
Which canvas fabric you used?
#10 extra heavy weight duck canvas roll. This particular canvas in this video was donated so I'm not exactly sure, but it's pretty close to #10
have these been stretched?
The Leo painting (purple woman with red background and plants) was stretched for a gallery show. The other ones have not been stretched yet. They will be for a show in 2021😉 Thanks for watching 💘
I love your energy. I subscribed before watching any of your videos because I like to see black girls win.
Side note the fact that I have to type in black artists is so f***ing annoying. I know it’s talented black folks on here, algorithm racist too? 😭
LOVE IT🥰🥰🥰🥰LOVE U🥰🥰🥰🥰🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Love you back!! 💖
