They're not usually that noisy, I think they felt bothered by the person with the camera. My grandparents had a small flock of them on their farm. Their big value was at night. if anything bothers them, like a predator or an intruder they'll make the sort of noise you hear in the video but like X10 louder. If they started squawking in the middle of the night my grandpa would grab the .410 and head to the henhouse to protect the chickens from what ever was out there.
Never a dull moment. If only I had a language interpreter for these birds. I hear a song with a fine rhythm back up --but cannot understand the language. One has to admire the solar-plexus vitality of these amazing birds. Maybe they are mouthing political slogans, criticisms of our efforts, or offering constructive observations --or maybe they are innovating erotic and/or romantic historical documentaries. We have no way of knowing. We receive their vocal offerings and rejoice in their vitality.
Wanted to add Guineas don't always make noise, but they make the best watch dogs better than dogs, anything comes anywhere near your property they make a alot of noise & let you know. I use to raise birds, had a bird farm & was a game breeder for state of Michigan & all the farms had them.
i remember seeing flocks of these on my last trip to the Dominican Republic. they were pretty loud at night but that didnt compare to the mosquitos, lol.
We had some....they ganged up on the ground squirrels and chased them away...very territorial and good watchdogs if you have chickens (and don't mind the squawking)
We have a male and female and they're pretty quiet usually, only have one or two sessions of noise a day. The worst habbit they have at the moment is looking at themselves in the windows of the house and pooing on the verandah in the process. I think the male sees his reflection as a rival and tries to fend him off.
We used to have Guinea Hens when I was a kid I killed one on accident I was playing around and scared them they went crazy one Guinea hen jumped on top of the other and started running on its back and it just dropped dead. Did it die because I scared it or because the Guinea Hen on top clawed it to death when it was running on its back?
Ry Guy kkkk, the same happen to me & sister, we're playing with some chicks, my sister jumping over them, and splashhhhh on top of one little chick, cried a little but hey, kids play, no guilty to carry on !!!
Lol 8 of these wondered onto our property and haven't moved for a couple of months now...we have six now though,1 got hit by a car and 1 got picked up by a hawk :(
Dumbest birds I have ever owned, yet I loved having them around and they were very funny and was sad when I had to let them go (Moved and could only take a small amount of my flock, so I had to give them to someone I knew who owned a bunch :(
I love guineas, and I love their sound. At night they sing a lullaby that is very soft when they roost
I think it's a lovely sound. If you are ever in beautiful wild southern Africa, you will occasionally hear the wild guineafowl.
i'm a mom of 5, this sounds like a typical day at my house
Guineas look like the love child of a turkey and an armadillo.
Casey Short hlw, i m from India
You would think with that horrible sound they would annoy the hell out of each other and run away.

This sounds just like the television show called THE VIEW.
The Guinea Hens sound a lot better and make more sense than Bawbarwa Wa-walters & the other 3 babble-boxes!

The fascination with this bird is because its edible🐓🐔🦃🦆
This video makes me miss the guineas we used to have. Not the brightest of birds, but amusing none-the-less. ^^
"come back" "come back" "come back" says the guinees

I thought they were saying "my BACK!, my BACK!" perhaps they need a chiropractor?

Some of the best alarms you can have, my uncle had a couple.
The sound at anything and everything ... even shadows. If you don't mind being blasted out of your bed in the middle of the night, get a few.

I agree. They're pretty damn stupid. But they're interesting to have around. Just not when they chase your horses and try to eat their tails.
