cesleigh brooke There's multiple FLDS members who have said similar things. A woman and her young daughters said something very similar. It just goes to show how hellish life in the FLDS truly is. It's a sentiment shared between many who have escaped. edit* I commented this before the woman and her daughters were shown. I think they're actually the ones who also said what I referred to above, in the video where they get haircuts.

But 'normal' people see a dentist about once a year and get it fixed, but I can guarantee you that they have never met a dentist or even seen a dentist chair before, and when holes font get fixed they end up looking like that

Jess Johnston. I must admit I don't know how it is with dental care (dentist) here in Norway when it comes to preschool children. Allthough things have changed a LOT since I started grammar school (1950) I can't remember I was taken to the dentist before I started in school. The teeth you get as a child, you lose at at 6-7, not much sence in throwing out a lot of money for dentalcare before they start growing "real" teeth, unless there is actual desease or/and pain. Dental HYGIENE is something different again, THAT should ABSOLUTELY been tought any and all children from the first tooth. THAT I remember my brother and I did religiously every morning and evening. I also remember we were tought both general hygiene and mouth hygiene at school, even in that day and age.

The government of Utah chose this. It is a state known for being heavily controlled by extremist religious sects, and one of the least regulated states in the country as a result. The government of the state has outright endorsed child abuse. And this is a good lesson in why federalism theoretically seems like a good way to prevent massive government overreach, but in practice results in certain regions producing incredibly inequitable qualities of life for its residents as compared to other regions or even the national average.

Parii27 and how many of their kids complain about it? You dismiss a whole culture on the complaints of a very small dissatisfied minority who have left.
The same way they voted with their feet and left, so can all the others, yet they choose to remain. Got to wonder why.
From their perspective, it is you who has been forced to live in a sick and twisted society, not them. Your society's issues with drugs, homicides, rapes, suicides, alcohol, unwed teenage pregnancies, unemployment, school shootings, school dropouts, DUI's, homeless people, high divorce rate, aids, prostitution, etc. is proof enough to them that you are indeed living in a sick and twisted society when compared to theirs.
Perhaps you should first clean up 'your America' before forcing others different from you, to live in your society's carnal filth and decadence.
It is always easier to point out the faults of others than to admit to our own.

I'm surprised at how laid back Utah is with it's homeschooling laws. In Florida if you decide to homeschool you have the state and county school system both breathing down your neck till graduation day. The endless paperwork, yearly evaluations and laundry list of requirements you have to follow are enough to drive anyone nuts.

Tina M Fam oh please. LDS were polygamist, Brigham Young, Joseph Smith they all had several wives and young ones, they stopped that crap because it wasn’t “acceptable” anymore and they change church rules when it’s convenient for the church. LDS it’s a made up eligion. It’s funny how modern LDS don’t want to admit it and want to erase that from the church history.

And because of all the extremists, fake church’s, all the lies some tell. But if you have a connection with God and can study and understand the King James Bible Correctly then you may think different.

In the UK, you don't have to follow the National Curriculum as taught in schools, but local authorities can check on the child's education, and issue a school attendance order to force the child to go to school if they think it's warranted.
