Allthough things have changed a LOT since I started grammar school (1950) I can't remember I was taken to the dentist before I started in school. The teeth you get as a child, you lose at at 6-7, not much sence in throwing out a lot of money for dentalcare before they start growing "real" teeth, unless there is actual desease or/and pain. Dental HYGIENE is something different again, THAT should ABSOLUTELY been tought any and all children from the first tooth. THAT I remember my brother and I did religiously every morning and evening. In Florida if you decide to homeschool you have the state and county school system both breathing down your neck till graduation day. In the UK, you don't have to follow the National Curriculum as taught in schools, but local authorities can check on the child's education, and issue a school attendance order to force the child to go to school if they think it's warranted.
