As a Smash player, it astounds me that you guys get a character that requires you to _literally incorporate taunting into their gameplay_

Strive is incredibly easy. A taunt does nothing in terms of showing anything off when none of the game requires any type of mechanical skill

Well you will also get a kick out of this, the Japanese voice actor for Zato-1 is the same Voice actor who plays Dio/Diego from JoJo, and has been voicing him since Guilty Gear XX released if I'm remembering correctly. Plus as a huge JoJo fan my self the amount of characters named after Bands is great. Example, we have a vampire who's entire code of honor is "dandyism" Named Slayer. The main character Sol Badguy. Real name Frederick, is named after Freddy Mercury since the creator is a huge queen fan. My favorite is a short homunculus girl Named A.B.A who wields a giant key about twice her size. That key is also her husband who she is trying to find a human body for. The main reason behind the story happening is because of Y2K and a 100 year long crusade against human magic hybrids. Fantastic game, just as weird as JOJO, which is another reason I love it.

To be fair, that Axl Finish was sorta anime and it fits the character. Wasn't that the "Respect" action, so he wasn't being toxic; more like telling you he had fun.

- Taunting during a window during your combo: Disrespect
- Taunting during neutral with some space between you and your oponnent: Fun, Silly if mutual teabaging is added

Well that’s literally the entire point of Potemkin’s play-style is he has fatal grabs, fast characters are a decent counter to him in my experience
They have like 5 options that beat the grab reliably, yet people are too scared and get grabbed anyway.
