EASY tutorial to make a crochet cat bookmark. This pattern takes hardly few minutes to make and works great for last moment gifts especially for cat lovers. The cat appliqué can be used for other crochet projects as well.

Is there a way to start this bookmark without using the magic ring? I can’t get the magic ring and it’s driving me crazy
You can chain 2 and in the first chain make all the stitches of 1st round. And treat the ch1 as the magic ring. Hope this helps.

Do you just have to use cotton ?? Or can you kinda yarn??
Cotton yarn holds the shape better but you can use any kind of yarn.

Yes you absolutely can, I have not tried yet though. You can use black thread to make the eyes or even ready made ones.
