- Today I travel from Langkawi island in Malaysia to Koh Lipe island in Thailand.
It turned out to be a very easy process and I filmed the whole thing for anybody who is thinking of entering Thailand over sea.

I actually did a day trip from Langkawi to Koh Lipe back in Jan 2017 and stayed for 6 hours before heading back to Langkawi around 5pm-ish.
But I went to Koh Lipe again in Feb 2018 staying 3 nights there after staying 5 nights in Ao Nang/Krabi, 3 nights in Koh Phi Phi Don and 1 night in Koh Lanta

@@leechafertravels All of them except Koh Lanta (which I also liked too). Koh Lipe, Ao Nang/Krabi/Railey and Koh Phi Phi are my favourite Thai islands as well as Koh Samui and Koh Tao but I didn't like Phuket much. Personally I think Langkawi was much better than Phuket IMO

@@leechafertravels I spent a week in Langkawi doing the Cable Car/Sky Bridge, Mangroves Tour, Island Hopping Tour, Day trip to Koh Lipe, Going to Gunung Mountain at sunset, day trip to Pulau Payar Marine Park, Sunset Cruise at the Jetty, Climbing up the steps of Seven Wells Waterfall. Also visited Eagle Square at Kuah, Underwater World aquarium, Langkawi Bird Wildlife Park, Crocodile Adventureland, Durian Perangin Waterfalls, Temurun Waterfalls, Pasir Tengkorak Beach and Tanjung Rhu Beach - I stayed at Pantai Cenang.
For Phuket, visited Big Buddha, Karon Viewpoint, Wat Chalong, Elephant Sanctuary, Promthep Cape, Surin Beach, Kamala Beac, Patong Beach (hated this place and area) and stayed at Kata Beach. Did day trips to Similan Islands, Koh Phi Phi and Coral Islands

do you think is a bad idea and dangerous to do this trip during summer (end of July) due to the storms?
I honestly couldn't say for sure as I've not done it myself and I haven't even been in South East Asia during that time of year.
I think if it's not stormy on the day then you should be fine. It's not always stormy at that time of year, but there can be a lot of rain.
How long did the ferry take and how much was the cost ?
Around 2 hours and it was £30 👍🏻
At what point they take your passeport? What if they loose it?
In the departure hall in Malaysia.
Basically you just don't have it while on the boat.
What if you keep your passport and YOU lose it? 🤷🏻♂️
Anybody losing a passport is not ideal, but also very unlikely.
What is the name of the port in Langkawi you left from as there are two. Thanks
I don't remember, but if you book it in town or at your accommodation they will tell you and it will say on the ticket.

@@leechafertravels awsome, just one other thing, ususally when flying to thailand they ask you for medical insurance and a return or onward ticket to enter, is that also the case with the island immigration ?
@@kaiziel No, nothing was asked for by immigration. It's a good job because I didn't have any onward travel booked!😁😁
Also....I've flown into Thailand approx 25 times and I have NEVER been asked about insurance! Who told you this?
In fact, I don't think I've ever been asked about insurance ANYWHERE in the world! 🤷🏻♂️😊
@@leechafertravels I don't know it was on a CZcams video for Thailand entry, just one other thing, do they scan or search through your checked luggage/suitecase? I got a bunch of herbal supplements apparently it's not permitted?
@@kaiziel I'm not sure, I only travel with hand luggage, no checked baggage. I don't know if you're allowed to bring things like that.
The insurance thing might have been specific to cov!d....when they first opened the borders back up I seen to remember that was one of the requirements.
I can't see how to book these tickets online and all I can see online is that the ferries from penang to Langkawi and Langkawi to Koh Lipe are suspended since covid? Does this mean we may actually be able to make it form Penang to Koh Lipe now! So glad I saw this video because I was going to book transport all the way via Hat Yai which would have been like 15 hours! THANK YOU! life saver!

The ferries are definitely not suspended.
I flew from Penang to Langkawi so I don't know about that ferry, but I did speak to people that had done it.
Langkawi to Koh Lipe can be booked at various travel agents in Langkawi. Your accommodation may even be able to arrange it, as mine did.

Only 5 day visa in Thailand ??
No, 45 days.
The 5 days that i referred to was the 'pass' that is required to be on the island, due to it being a national park.
is kohlipe expensive？
No not really. It's a little bit overpriced, as all of the island to be, but I wouldn't class it as expensive.
There is any trips to New Zealand?
I don't have any planned.

Do you need to get a visa ?
I didn't as I'm from the UK and we get 30 days visa free in Thailand (was 45 days at the time of filming).
