I just caught a glimpse of your ‘layin low’ tattoo and I remember when you got that. As a woman old enough to be your Mom I just wanted to share that I am so proud of you. You have worked so hard and deserve all the best this life can offer. I have been following you since using a broken lamp was the lighting in your tutorials and you were still working as an MUA. I wish you a smooth and speedy birth along with a quick bounce back for you. I am excited for you and Jack. And excited for all the grandparents too. Huge, huge love to you, Jack, Drogba and Juno from 🇨🇦

You literally won't think about anything else but your baby for the rest of your life. My sons 26 and he's still the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about at night. It's such a special time waiting for your wee one to arrive ❤

Breast feeding didn’t work for me, so I was able to go for my Botox not too long after giving birth. When I wasn’t feeling my best, it was a nice perk up. Also, apparently Morpheus can be used on your belly to tighten skin up! I’m going to ask about it for myself. I don’t have a ton of loose skin so why the hell not
One thing I wanted to add (because I feel like it’s not talked about) is if you don’t feel that overwhelming love and bond right away don’t worry. It will come. There’s so much pressure, and with “baby blues” it can make you feel even worse. Just go easy on yourself if you don’t feel it right away is all.

Don’t worry about sleep deprivation- you may have a really great sleeper. Both of my girls, now 17 and about to be 14, slept through the night from the first night I brought them home. Occasionally they would wake up once, need a feeding and a changing, and they would go back down. You may get lucky too. Regardless of which path your baby girl takes, you won’t mind getting up. Newborns are magical. They are so soft. They are warm. They make the sweetest noises. They smell delicious. You would stay up for a month straight for that baby. You’ve got this. Congratulations ❤❤❤.

Placenta encapsulation is fantastic. It gives your body back the iron, hormones and minerals that went in to making your placenta. It will help you hugely. Remember that second night postpartum is tough and when your milk comes in so will the tears. All normal 👍

I have my 10 week old asleep on my chest right now. He came two months early and our journey was hard but it’s all worth it when they’re next to you. Try to enjoy every moment but don’t stress when you don’t. Take good care of yourself those hormones are wild. Cuddles are your best friend. You’ll do amazing and it’s worth it. Loved this catch up Q&A on what you are and are not going to do. Ive had 4 children all induced, gas and air at the last part of labour, luckily 3 hour labours from 1st contraction to delivery, no birth plans for any of them lol.
The best advice I was given for my 1st was from a mum of 4 in the next bed that said "keep your mouth shut in labour, dont scream and shout as you waste energy", I think you just naturally get into the zone when labour really kicks in, listen to your body, and also with my 1st the midwife said to me "when you see her you will realise just how much your mum loves you" and its right you do. I wish you the safest labour and delivery and I cant wait to see baby girl, Jacks reaction when she is here as well as yours of course and the next chapter as parents, take care and lots of love xx

I really would like for you to know this nugget of help
Every baby has their own flow. They are their own individuals. So when you think of nursing just feed baby when baby needs fed. Try not to have such strict blocks of time because it leads to disappointment and baby frustrated.
I’m a mom of 3 and when I was told to nurse “on demand” it changed the game for me and everything was so much smoother

Encapsulating my placenta was the best thing ever! Had postpartum blues maybe even a little depression with my daughter and so I went looking for something to help when I fell pregnant with my son. Came across placenta encapsulation and decided to try it and it seriously was the best thing ever I felt like it helped my hormones so much. Even my hubby noticed the difference to the point he tells any of his guy friends about it whose wives/gfs become pregnant.

That is the most sensible birth plan I have heard. Have your preferences but go with whatever has to happen to bring a healthy baby into the world. Also with breast feeding. Don't feel pressured into it if it is not working because this stress will only take away precious time between you and your baby. Best of luck and can't wait to see the little one. I bet Jack will be crying when she arrives.

I can’t believe your baby girl is almost here! It seems like the time is just flying. I think your realization that birth plans can go awry is the best. I have 5 kids and just went in with minimal expectation and I’m grateful they’ve all gone smoothly. I wish one day the United States would get on board with better maternity leave. We only get 6-12 weeks at home depending on your state and coverage. I only got 2months with my baby girl. Thankful that I was able to ease back into work at least though, 1 day/week the first month, 2 the next and 3-4/week from there on out.

The lack of sleep, as hard as it can be.. is worth it for the love we have for our baby. Seeing them smile and know they are comforted and feel safe. Adult nappies were a game changer for me for PP bleeding. Also the My Expert Midwife Spritz for Bits, felt really nice sprayed directly or on the nappy/pad for stitches etc. My birth happened relatively quickly so gas and air was my only option as when I got pethidine it was too late as baby arrived before it kicked in. And regards to the placenta pills, a friend of mine got pills and creams and it worked wonders for her eczema and other skin conditions, she felt amazing!
I hope you and the baby have a safe birth and I'm so excited for any updates from you! Going through it myself gives me a new perspective for other people.

Just had my 2cd and this time was natural and with induction and was blissssful. My #1 tip is to remember your breathing. Truly out loud saying relax as you breath through the harder surges you have to focus on breathing calm and force those tight spots to relax and they will. Stay in motion and listen to your body she knows what she's doing even when your brain thinks it doesn't 😂 if you wait until the fetal ejection response kicks in and your body just starts pushing that's the beat point and my other tip would be don't just push/breath she out also breathe in and let her come up to allow a good easy stretch, it works! Pushing is the easiest part if your bodies able to get to FER. You'll feel the most intense and emotional in transition and that's when the magic happens lean into and kiss Jack that oxytocin will do wonders! Love your content and love watching your journey ❤

Honestly having your mindset is completely the way to be. I was like that, whatever happens happens as long as they are healthy it’s fine and my birth was so relaxed and luckily went smoothly ( as smooth and relaxing as pushing a baby can go 😂) but you’ll be amazing and I can’t wait to see you guys with a wee baby. I’ve been here since the start of you 2 in the flat and I just adore you both.
Please don’t ever put pressure on yourself with labour/ birth or even post birth. My top tip would be right now if buy plenty of freezable meals and batch cook and freeze some stuff so for a good 2 weeks after baby girl, you aren’t thinking of doing anything just enjoying her and rest as much as you can!

As a midwife I always phrase it as 'birth preferences' rather than a 'birth plan', because it's great to have thoughts on way you do or don't want it to go and put things in place to adhere to this as much as possible but sometimes our bodies or our babies will dictate things to deviate from our ideal expectations.

Water births are amazing! I've had 2 "on the bed" births and 2 water and honestly, the water is amazing. I'm one of those who didn't have pain relief 🤣 but the water was an amazing relief and it does cushion the pain slightly. 10/10 would definitely recommend 👌🏻

I had tiny bit of my placenta raw to stop my bleeding after giving birth also my milk came super fast. I did capsules and tincture also. I still have a tincture in the freezer 12 years later. It doesn’t go bad because it’s on alcohol

I'm 6 weeks post partum and have done placenta encapsulation. My baby boy was in hospital from 3 days old to 5 weeks old, he had to have 2 operations and a stoma formed, he has hirschsprung disease, a lifelong disease that has affected his bowels. That mixed with being postpartum and a 2.5 year old at home I anticipated that I would really struggle mentally. I put my sound mental state down to the placenta gummies I am taking. It might seem ridiculous to some people, but it has really helped me x

Water births are amazing imo. I've done epi and water and if I had a third, it would water hands down. So much easier than epi cause I could feel what was happening but the hot water took away the pain

If it hurts to breastfeed, like actual pain and not discomfort definitely invest in seeing a lactation consultant 🥰 Fed is best obvs but breastfeeding is so so lovely 🥰

That was one of my favorite parts of pregnancy. I would just warn people around me that I had literally zero fucks to give. I would actually surprise myself with some of the things that came out of my mouth. It was great 🤣

Oh I am soooo excited for you guys!!! Babies are truly the greatest blessing! I wish I would've filmed and documented more during and after labor at the hospital. That is such a great idea because it was definitely an out of body experience. I pray that everything goes smoothly with labor and birth(plus the 4th trimester) for you and baby girl. And can't wait to meet her and find out her name! I remember watching your videos all through my pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding my son lol(he'll be 6 in August). Love you bunches 🩷🫶🏻

Make sure you get your playlist together! My baby boy decided to make an early appearance and I hadn’t even started my birthing plan, my poor husband couldn’t get the music right. All I wanted to hear was Gregory Porter but couldn’t remember his name and was going mental because he couldn’t understand who I wanted to listen to 😂 also tens machine from John Lewis in case you don’t get your water birth, life saver!!! Best of luck, so excited for you ❤
