On April 11, 2024, Yoto voluntarily recalled over 250,000 Yoto Mini speakers for children due to a potential fire risk. The recall was issued after Yoto received seven reports of the speakers overheating and melting, which could pose a burn and fire hazard.

We got the smart cable. I feel safe still having yoto mini in my home. Its one of my sons favorites.

Overall no worries about safety with the new cable. My son likes using it when he’s out but since he’s the older brother he says he uses the bigger Yoto and let his little sister use the Mini 😅

I believe the new ones 2024 edition have a better fix that fixes the battery inside so you can use any type c cable.
