I agree with all of this except that Chloe takes it as a rejection. I think it's a sedate kiss, then Lucifer pulls away, Chloe tries to kiss again, looks down and looks up, saying without words that she wants more. And Lucifer gives her that amazing look, and they have their first truly passionate, hot kiss after their more cautious, loving kisses at points through the series.
The tears that were gushing out , Lord...they always look so vulnerable when they kiss, especially in this one, she looks so shy and he so uncertain, even though they have spent so much time together. It always makes my heart ache. Lucifer may be an experienced lover, but with Chloe you can see how gentle he is with her, how protective. UGH they own my heart!

I'm a 23 year old guy who never watches these kinds of series but I'm absolutely hooked on Lucifer. The relationship between Chloe and Lucifer feels so authentic and yet weird how it makes me happy to see them in moments like this even though I know it's all fake.
I’m a 22 year old guy and I’m in the same boat. Watched it all in a few weeks. And this scene made me so happy. I think I just hope that some day I’ll find somebody who looks at me they way the look at each other and who has the same care and love for me. Their romance is bittersweet for me because I love them on screen but then feel a longing for a romance this authentic and deep
So basically, the gift is that she can see Lucifer as a person with true feelings and not like the reflection of her own desires like everyone else does? And then she felt in love seeing him for what he trully is. That explains why everything that they are feeling is real... 'cause she could have seen him like a normal person and not fall in love with him! But finally, she did it with free will.
And all this for the season 5 b trailer to ruin it with the words "If I said those three words it would be a lie",I hope that's a bad joke and those words weren't real because my heart can't take it.

I think that this scene was the nightmare because he seems pretty in shock. And then he goes over to his piano and plays "wicked game " (given from some BTS). Hope that somehow makes sense😅

Later he realizes that his father is capable of love (for Goddess/Shekhinah and for his children) and thereby realizes he (Lucifer) is also capable of love. He was, of course, capable of love the whole time. He just couldn't see past his issues with his rejection by his father far enough to accept it.
To have someone look at you the way they look at each other before their passionate kiss is something everyone should experience at least once. Fantastic acting from these two incredible talents, they just nail it! Method acting at its finest, they truly become their characters and we can feel it.

This was the FIRST Deckerstar kiss where there was nothing bad happening. S2, Lucifer finds out Chloe’s a miracle, S3, Charlotte dies, and S4, Lucifer goes back to Hell. All their previous kisses had me heartbroken but this was just perfect. It was just so full of love 😭😍😭😍😍😍
I love how softly he kisses her almost like he's afraid of breaking her when he touches her. When the camera pans up to the ceiling you can clearly see in the reflection on the piano that they are still kissing even though the camera is technically no longer on them...
Amenadeal theory makes so much sense, we know that Lucifer's powers have a lot to do with his feelings and emotional state and we also remember that Chloe's bullets didn't work on him in the first episode. It all adds up it's like the writers planned this from the beginning.

He is invulnerable then, he only became vulnerable later on in the show. He got shot at the end of the first episode, in the studio, and he didn't have any wound :)
