Sorry if I don’t understand your tone but are you mean that the character with little to no modifications that all designs the fans agree are cool is bad plus wouldn’t it make sense to keep the fans happy because they make them money only design that nearly flops is bayverse but even then people tend to agree bad movies great alt mode updates and redesigns that people like especially animated
TFP Shockwave was the utmost blend of perfection. He even had some redemption when he guided the Predacons to aid Autobots against Unicron's undead Predacon army ,after he survived the assault by the Predacon Terrorcons.
Bayverse Shockwave’s design is just straight up *METAL* ,literally and metaphorically which is why it’s pretty badass but Bumblebee Shockwave is just a chef’s kiss.
Honestly thats why i love the differnce in bayverse and bumblebee because bayverse makes the decepticons look scary and menacing meanwhile bumblebee makes them look like cool live action g1 transformers
I love the prime and g1 designs but I must admit that making Shockwave tall in the bayverse was the best part of his design. Couldn't imagine him short
Shockwave in Bayverse was actually an absolute genius design even if it's significantly different. The horns along with the more alieny look on his face and how he just kinda stands there menacingly as he commands a big fukin drill worm is just pure badassery. The two headed shockwave from Age if Extinction is also in my opinion quite a cool concept.
The thing that I love about the Bayverse Shockwave design is that they turned the ears that he usually has in most of the media he's in, and changes it into some badass horns

@@Kaiju-bm4ts, TFP Shockwave is smaller, has a different head and his skin is smoother. But he has still the same body type from Bayverse Shockwave. Both have the same alt-mode. The only G1 reference I see is his purple colour.
@@ericm.8110 that's why I said he's a blend of both, literally the only bayverse aspect is the bulky body and tank mode, it's not really the same design as bayverse shockwave if only the bulk and tank design are the only familiar aspects. Gun is on a separate arm, head design is different with no mouth, spikes on his back, less complex design that is still complex in it's own way. It's a blend of both g1 and bayverse

I love the dark of the moons design alot, He may not look Much purple Or Look like a scientist, but The idea of him having A Metal worm and a Killing Machine Was Super badass. I wish they Bay would Focus more Him or made him the main villain for the movie instead of scraping the idea
My favorite is the Animated design, it’s so sinister yet so sophisticated. The antlers were a very nice touch and they make him look almost like a Wendigo of sorts.
Shockwave has always been perfect or near perfect always and he is always easy to tell who it is even from different stuff where he looks different than normal like animated you can tell it’s him

To be very honest, my only real gripe is how colorless he is in DotM. HOWEVER, his toy rectified this issue and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

I personally hate those designs with passion because they are meant to be robots but look like Ben 10 aliens especially from Omniverse.
