  • This wand was made from Bloodwood and a deer bone I found in the woods. I am really happy how this one turned out. Let me know in the comments what you think and if you have any suggestions on what I should make next. Thanks for watching!

This is a beautiful piece! As a wandmaker myself, I admire your use of materials!

I'm always shocked at how well turned wands sell at craft shows. Nice job.

That final cut made the video. Love the wand design, love the process! You deserve more love

Very nice project. Good use of the bone, blood wood was a solid pairing with it and the leather cushion blends in nicely.
The only thing I would add is to tell your viewers to wear a respirator when turning or sanding bone/antler because that is some of the worst dust for your lungs.

Thanks so much! I couldn't agree more. Using a respirator is a must!

Hold on! That wand is wicked! But, please, tell me how you made the bone appear luminescent at the end - it appeared to have a bluish/gold tinge to it. Stunning!

Thank you so much. Just a lot of sanding and some finish.

Hi I love your Wands. I've made a few Wooden Wands from Gabon Ebony and other woods. Should I use Danish Oil and then Beeswax polish or Mineral oil to finish it?

    • @DavidsonCrafts

Thank you. For my wands, I normally use mineral oil followed by a beeswax mix. When I've used Danish oil I have not used wax.

How did the bone get a blue hue like at time marker 9:06?

I think it was from the lighting. Once it was polished up it started to pull different colors in the light.
