How To Use Regenerative Braking in a Tesla

- Tesla owners hardly ever use their brake pedal and that's because when you take your foot off the accelerator you'll feel the car slowing down a lot because the car is reclaiming the energy from inertia back into the battery. It feels quite strange at first not to have that momentum when you take your foot off the accelerator but it's easy to get used to and adds longevity to the brake pads.
I just purchased a Rivian R1S and thought it would take a long time to get use to it and wouldn't like it.... Well, a week later I'm use to it and prefer it now not needing to use the brakes.
My cousin first got his model y he wasn’t use to it he told me that when you keep driving for months you get use to it
Months??? Try days!! It's so great to know that my brake pads and rotors will last the life of my car because they're rarely getting used!!!
Yikes, so you’re unable to ‘coast’ in a Tesla and always have to keep your foot on the accelerator? I have a Y on order but this might be a deal breaker 🤦🏻♂️
there is a setting to turn the regen braking down. there is also cruise control if u just want to cruise along the highway
You can adjust the settings but hold the highest Regen is great I couldn’t go back
I just returned mine for this reason. 3 Tesla employees told me there’s nothing I can do. Make me carsick AF. The car kept trying to stop anytime I wasn’t accelerating.

It is definitely not great and should be an option for hiw much regenerative braking you want to use. I wouldnt have bought a tesla had i known they turned this option off
