      It's people like you that make innovation possible, thankyou. I have to wait for the product to mature and the amortisation of cost per unit and market competition to push down pricing. While I support good product I cant afford to support short term ROI pricing. I hope you buy the $240 "sunvisor" that will help them immensely.

    Great video and a very impressive piece of kit. I've been looking at this for a couple of weeks now since seeing it on social media. My garden isn't quite as big as yours so I will probably go with the 3000. I will be looking to mount my charing station on the path though, rather than on the lawn itself, fixing it directly into the paving. Hopefully this will prevent the issue of chewing up the grass. I will have to see if I can still get away with mounting the RTK receiver directly against the house above the charging station, I'm very tempted to place the order right now.

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před rokem

      Hi Dale, thanks for your comment. Yes it should be no problem mounting on the concrete or patio, you will just need to find your own fixings for the charging station. This will need to be secured so that it doesn't move when the Luba docks. If you do go ahead and bite the bullet, I would appreciate if you use my affiliate link below -

    Absolutely fanstastic, thorough and informative review! Thank you. Have just levelledand and reseeded my lawn (0.75 acre) and tidied boundaries. Have previously used a Mountfield tractor but this Luba AWD 5000 looks like a fantastic robotic option. The query I have concerns the RTK signal and connectivity for firmware upgrades, planning on the app etc. In a nutshell, we have next to no mobile signal here and rely on WiFi, although the range of that is limited from the house and I would be looking to place the base station approximately 50m away, next to my workshop. Is a mobile / WiFi signal required at all, or is all connectivity done via GPS for the routing and Bluetooth for firmware upgrade? Also did you manage to test the avoidance feature as we also have quite a large pond that needs to be left alone! Many thanks!

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před rokem +1

      Hi - thanks for you positive feedback, much appreciated. Mammotion have confirmed to me that you don't need WIFI or line of site to the Luba and my neighbour who is testing the mower on his larger lawns, also has very limited WIFI. He is not having any issues with the connection.
      He also has a large pond/lake and has run the Luba around leaving around a 20cm gap (to allow some wiggle room) and again has had no problems.
      I am going to do update video soon to show this more complex setup/lawn and how well the Luba is doing.
      He has split his larger lawn into 3 sections and created 2 passage ways between them. There is an issue when trying to edit these passages as they sit "under" the defined lawn areas. As there is no gap between them (completely joined) you can't "click" on the passages to edit them (you would have to delete the defined area and start again). Mammotion are aware of the issues and have said it will be fixed in future update.
      Thanks again

    Outstanding review! I've been eyeing this unit for a while. I have a very challenging situation with a .75 acre lawn that is quite bumpy, has a 45% slope in places, and some enormous Great Dane dog poo obstacles (when I push mow and accidentally step on a poo on the slope, down I go). The teenage boy always seems to miss some of them. I wish there was a way I could confirm that it will tackle my situation before purchase.

    This is the best product review I have seen! Nice Job. I live in the northern US and we maintain our Bluegrass lawns at 3.5 inches in the warmest weather in July. I noticed this mower only adjusts to 2.75 inches. I love this mower but cannot use it. My one-year-old Landroid gets stuck at least two times per week on ridiculously small slopes and sends me a text message for help. Since this Luba mower is AWD without steering, does it tear the lawn at turns? Over time turning in the same place? My Landroid makes tracks around the perimeter since it follows the wire to recharge every hour or so. Thanks for your great effort.
    Also, beautiful lawn and home.

      Hi, thanks so much for the positive feedback. I have the mower over at my neighbours more complex lawn, and yes there are a few patches where the grass has worn. These locations are indeed where the Luba has too make a sharp turn on itself. This is the reason Mammotion now include the mat that is positioned in front of the charging station.
      I an going to make an update video in the spring of next year, and go over the little quirks the Luba has.

      @EasyLawnMowing  Před měsícem +1

      Hi, Thanks for your positive feedback.
      No line of site required, even with the Luba 1. The Luba mower and the RTK station just need to see the same satellites. The Luba 2 also has the camera so can still map and navigate with loss of satellites. This is why it's important to let the RTK station see as much of the sky as possible. Thanks

    Hi, amazing video. I am also thinking of buying one - the Luba AWD 1000 but still struggling because of the RTK / GPS system and my worries it won't work in an area at my house but I have seen in your video, that your RTK and Charging station is on the other side of the smaller front lawn and your whole house is between it. Do you have any RTK / GPS issues in the smaller front lawn because of that? Also I so you pathway between the large and small lawn is a narrow way with high walls on both sides - does it recieve enought RTK /GPS signal on this pathway because I have a similar situation but with gras that needs to be mowed and I fear that in this area (4m wide and 15m long and with high walls on each side) Luba will stop because he won't get enough RTK/GPS signal. Can you please tell me how it is going and your experience und feedback. Many thanks.

      Thank you for your positive feedback, really pleased my video was helpful.
      The range of the RTK station to the Luba is 120 metres, and uses a combination of direct and GPS (RTK) to talk to each other. So I believe that regardless of the house, as long as the Luba does not travel more than 120m from the RTK station, you will be good.
      You are provided with an additional power supply to power up the RTK reference station, so this could be used to mount it more centrally between your front and rear garden. However, this was not required for myself, as you could see from my video, but another option.

      Hi,
      No line of site required, even with the Luba 1. The Luba mower and the RTK station just need to see the same satellites. The Luba 2 also has the camera so can still map and navigate with loss of satellites. This is why it's important to let the RTK station see as much of the sky as possible (mount higher if you have lots of tree cover).

People are having issues with cleaning the underside due to Mammotion stating this was allowed before back tracking after people started getting water damage from the underside of the motor through the rubber gasket under the disk blade / rotor. The gasket is extremely thin and does not prevent water from seeping into the inner parts of the luba causing the luba to die. There are many posts on the official and unofficial subreddit. They even released a video that said to not clean it from the underside with a hose, then backtracked and deleted the video from Facebook and privated the video. Hi. I’m not sure if this is being asked before so apologies if it has. I currently have an Automower which has been excellent apart from the scarifying and aerating seasons when the guide wires become a scary challenge. Unfortunately, I have a secondary area which can only be accessed by crossing a wide gravel driveway. This isn’t too much of a problem. I simply pick the mower up and carry it across the gravel. Would the Luba be able to deal with this without having to pick it up? I think the problem with the Automower is that the blades don’t stop turning as it crosses hard surfaces etc so the gravel would damage them.

Even the Mammotion website has conflicting info on this mower's spec's & performance stat's. Obviously, it's going to be a different case for each owner/operator.

      GPS Satellites may be geostationary but the Tilt of the Earth and seasonal change in inclination will cause a variance in signal strength throughout the day as the seasons change. Power Lines, Clouds, air density and humidity levels can effect radio frequency energy as well. The lack of anti theft is so challenging for me to get my head around. There really isn't much in the way of options there to compensate for the lack of that feature. The Kress will be about $500-800 more to cut 3/4 acres and includes anti theft, and a dealer/service network that the Luba also doesnt have.
    I really want the Luba, still. It will cut much steeper slopes than anything else out there, it looks cool AND it's the first mower that uses TWO discs to cut vs the one that even the larger Husqvarna's have. It's mind blowing what Husqvarna charges for their mowers only to still have a random cutting pattern and tiny 10" disc.

    I have no idea how strong the satellite signal will be in my yard, and I’m concerned with it’s relatively low cutting height compared to my riding lawn mower. Luba’s max height is 70 cm (2.8”) while I normally cut my lawn at around 90 cm (3.5”). Not sure if my grass will burn up with such a low cut.
    Has it been working well for you? I see users complaining of so many issues online and commenting that Luba’s support team is non-responsive. I’ve no idea if this the typical user experience or not. I did send the sales team an email a couple of weeks ago, and they’ve not gotten back with me. Thank you.

      Hi Rob, thanks for your positive comments. It is working very nicely on my neighbours complex lawn of around 5000m squared. He has it mowing every day and is using all of the 10 zones. He has divided his largest lawn into 3 zones and it seems to work well. I spoke to him yesterday and he is happy with the latest firmware update as it allows him to edit the zones more easily and it seems to be navigating between zones that are joined (same lawn) more accurately. I understand your concerns as most robotic lawnmowers for large lawns are going to be white glove installs through local dealership, but the price will be significantly higher.

    • @rnette68
      @rnette68 Před rokem

      If the zones don't have a barrier between them or overlap, will Luba allow you to put a channel between them or will it combine both zones into one? Also if I install Luba under my pole barn, how will it know if rain has stopped? Will it just give it a peak and if not raining anymore it will go out and if raining just come in and check again later?

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před rokem

      @@rnette68 Hi, it is a good idea to split large lawns into 2 zones. You will then need to create a channel between them even though they are joined together. You need to do this to enable the Luba to navigate back to the charging station. You are absolutely right with regards to the rain sensor, the rain will sit in the sensor for some time until it evaporates. If the Luba goes out again while it is still raining, it will simply return to the station.

      Hi, the mower is tied in to the user via the app and needs to be released by the primary user to be used elsewhere.
      Each LUBA device is equipped with an anti-theft system that automatically activates when it leaves your geofence. Additionally, you will receive a notification through the app in case of potential theft. The app also allows you to track your LUBA, making it easier to retrieve it if lost or stolen.

    I should receive mine any days now. One question though. Can you place the charging station on the pavement beside the shed so that Luba can turn around on the pavement instead of installing the mat on the grass. I understand that one need the mat if the charging station is on the grass, otherwise it might damage the grass. However, if the chargin station is positioned so that there is 1-2 meter of pavement in front of it, Luba won't damage the grass. Good in depth video by the way!

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před rokem +2

      Hi Jocelyn, so pleased you liked my video. In terms of the charging station, I believe it can be positioned on the pavement and avoid the need for the mat. I am not sure if the station would need to be either secured somehow down to the pavement, or have something behind it to ensure it doesn't move backwards, as the Luba mounts the base. Let me speak to Mammotion and I will come back to you. Thanks Mark

      The app will sound an alarm to notify users when there is unusual movement. Luba supports the "lost" feature. The original user will be informed of the current position of the lost LUBA when it reconnects to the network. LUBA cannot be used by others if the original user has not granted permission.

I had a Worx Landroid a few years ago that included a cellular connection, which meant you could literally track it's movement on a map in real time if someone walked off with it.

    I was having range concerns but i think your video put that to rest. When you started mowing you had 62% battery. Once finished it said it did 487.4m squared... which is equal to 0.12 acres and it it had 52% battery remaining. Meaning every 0.12 acres is = to 10% battery. Luba 5000 is advertised at being able to mow 1.25 acres. Given that you mowed approximately 1/10th the advertised range, and used approximately 1/10th battery, I'm feeling more confident in their range estimates now.
