you steve and patrick c by far have the best teaching styles available.thanks bro im 2 weeks into the banjo and love it because of you guys...keep up the great work.....
This is probably the best Tutorial video I've ever seen on playing Open back! Thank you, Steve. Just learn the chords and your fretboard becomes a playground of possibilities. n.
I go backwards from that. I think about what notes are in the triad I want and figure out the finger positions from that. And I keep a diagram of the circle of fifths for reference.
You didn't do much strumming in this video. You don't seem to be doing bum-dit-ty here. Are you doing 2 melody notes (with dynamics) and a thumb instead of one melody note and a strum and a thumb? Or are you doing ONE melody note then a thumb?
I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! This is what I have been looking for. So excited to see this video! Thanks for this.
Well this helped, was greatly appreciated, and was the best simple explanation I have ever seen. Thank you.

That's REALLY helpful. Thanks!
Glad I could help!

Yeah it's kind of a messy blend of bum-ditty and bump-a-ditty. I've been trying to use the full strum more sparingly. Still learning. :)

My pleasure!
