Glad you liked it. I have a lot of the other quarries and mills videoed on my other CZcams channel. Here's a link to one that covers Victor Quarry, 3D Mill, Independent Quarry and Sanders/Adams Quarry.

That’s about the cleanest quarry I ever seen. What model is that loader? I’m in a 992G

I'm guessing I've layed an air saw or chisel into that stone a few times..

You don't suppose there's any operational quarries in indiana that you could get permission to come look for calcite and other gemstones? I've been to one as a kid on a school trip, so they let people in from time to time.

I’d reckon it’s different now with MSHA guidelines.

A drilling crew comes in and drills holes into it and splits it into smaller (but still giant) mill blocks. From there it goes to the stone mills and is cut into slabs and eventually turned into anything you could imagine

      Longyi powder grinding machines advantages:
      1. Powder from 48~4microns, fineness is adjustable
      2. Built-in high efficiency classifier, no more investment cost for classifying system.
      3. Smart PLC operation system, and integrated control system: 1 computer could operated max 6 machines, saving management cost.
      4. No particle air pollution, more environment-friendly.
      5. Compact structure to save factory space and lower foundation construction cost.

      For CaCO3 powder
The whole grinding system including grinding, classifying, powder collector, fan, PLC cabinet, feeding conveyor and others, system power is 370Kw, the real working power is 296KW
      1. D97=23um (600mesh) Output: 10tons/h Energy Consumption: 29.6Kw/Ton
      2. D97=16um(800mesh) Output: 8tons/h Energy Consumption: 37Kw/Ton
      3. D97=10um (1250mesh) Output: 4.5tons/h Energy Consumption: 65.7Kw/Ton

@@mattcouch2965 Thanks for your response a couple of years ago, I'm not sure I saw it! I'm also shocked at the very elemental nature of my own question. I think of myself as having known those things for years, so not sure what I was thinking there. For example, in the movie from 1979, Breaking Away, the father goes back to the mill and puts in wedges on a block being gang-sawed. I also knew about hand carving of statues and fluting columns etc from my machinist experiences. It kind of blows my mind that only three years ago I asked that question. Your answer was excellent though! :) Thank you!

Looks like a perfect limestone slab that they poured.. then cut out limestone from.

Nature did that! Poured a slurry which settled, then got pressed over time :) Very uniform formations in some places...(Bedford area) Indiana for one, and that famous place in northern France (Caen?) for another! Yes, Mother Nature, you did a very nice pour!

Does this site also produce agricultural lime? If so, is it calcitic or dolomite?
