  • I have been slowly working on my new Multi-hull Proa "Anole". The rig is a design I tried in one of my previous videos. After extensive testing of both remote controlled and free sailing models, I get to work on the real boat. Check out the latest of this new sailing vessel and see if it works as good as I think it will.

Thanks much. Im excited to finish it up. The hulls look sleek and displacement is minimal, but should be enough for one, maybe two people.

Love the innovation bro, very interesting concept! The best part is that this concept could probably go very big if you can make it reefable... Anyway, fresh stuff from Shunter Zack! You keep it up, we're keeping Shunting.... The RC is kick ass! May D Force B with U for 23 Zack, Happy new year! Rael.

Thanks Real, the seas will judge! I think I will be able to reef the sail with some addition modifications. If this one preforms well, I can go ahead and start a bigger one. Juggling regular work with experimental boat building is the trick. Time management, as im sure u deal with too. Cheers

looks very interesting! you could really be on to something if it can self recover from caught aback, I hope it works on the big version! I also like the rig! reminds me of the ninigo island style (my favorite) (they also have what would be a very low aspect boomed lug sail, except tilted so much I think you have to call it high aspect, at least compared to other traditional sails) can't wait to see this sailing!

Im excited. I have a new job that has taken all of my time, otherwise I would be testing the full size right now. I think it will work well and the asymmetrical hull looks fast too. The flex in the "Lug" on top is what gives the sail a better shape. I can add more curve to the forward part of the sail when sheeted in, and less in back (of the sail) as the wind escapes and bends the PVC outward in the process.

@@zackariasthepirate are you able to tilt the A frame while sailing? I think that would give you really great steering control

@@dominictarrsailing Yes, it should be very easy to tilt while sailing. Also I will be able to reef too, but I have yet to test that.

An asymmetrical sharp chine vaca with plumb bows on will allow it to point high and not need any boards sticking down for lateral resistance.

Yes that does sound good. This Vaka ended up with a little more rocker than initially intended. I pushed the sides out for more displacement (which increased the rocker) as its only about 11 feet (the ama is 12 feet). I think the plumb bows would be good for up wind performance, not sure how they handle extreme chop. I have a plan on a bigger version of this in the future that will be more offshore capable so I stuck to the more curved hull shape that will handle the swells. I am planning on a leeward chine on the big hull, if I build a bigger version regardless. I may need a board on this one tho. Thanks for the suggestion.
