  • Firstly please forgive me for any mistake in the translation of this video. I'm still learning and an amateur to subbing, thus I'm so sorry. Secondly, sorry for the extremely bad English(sentence structure). Will try my best to improve myself to bring better video quality to all of you :)

      The funny things, he can speak korean but he cant speak his own country langguage. There is no excuse for you to say you cant speak Bahasa melayu. If you think im haters, you wrong im just saying what people supposed to do, how he can promote malaysia like othe foreign kpop idol in korea most of them can speak their own country langguage, so as malaysian Or as sabahan its resally dissappointed, for me there is no excuse.If you said that you are not staying in malaysia or most spend time in oversea its totally not a excuses If you can try hard to learn other country langguage why you dont try hard to learn your own country langguage?

    Okay i need to clear things up for you guys, he was uncomfortable speaking in malay bc HES SABAHAN, the accent/loghat were different and his tongue used to it (sabahan accent). in malaysia we have west malaysia/peninsular and borneo land (sarawak&sabahan). These place has many different types of accent. Theres a common/standard malay accent in malaysia. one of example is people who lives in KL. mostly, they speak english and common/standard malay accent. Me, myself (sabahan actually) when i go to west malaysia/peninsular, i will speak english most of the time bc im afraid people from there dont understand what im trying to say and same goes with isaac. I felt him. i hope one day he can comfortably speak in malay with sabahan accent bc theres nothing wrong with that. Maybe he will sound like indonesian a bit..but i think malaysian can quickly pick up his accent and understand.

    The main reason it's hard for him to speak in perfect and proper malay is because, he's Sabahan + Chinese.. at the place where he live, they have their own slang and language.
    What I can say is, Selangor and Johor are the only place that doesn't have their own slang, but they like to make their own weird words where you can never find it on dictionary. So its hard for you to understand because every years, there will be a new words.
    Such as, palau, kunyit, serai, sado, gimam and so many more.

    • @lumiereles7358
      @lumiereles7358 Před 5 lety +39

      Fyi Johor dont own slang but their own dialect. Every country in Malaysia has their own dialect (that's what they're called). Dialect and slang is different. Palau, kunyit etc that was slang actually.

      I get where he's coming from but tbh I'm left a bit disappointed lol. I don't care if he's from Sabah or not, I was hoping he could at least sound natural even with bad vocab. He looks like he just learned Malay two weeks ago. I kinda wished he could be like those idols from Japan, China or Thailand who could speak both Korean and native language fluently. I find it charming. But I guess we'll just have to accept what's there in store for now lol. At least he could still understand and communicate decently. I hope he becomes successful in Kpop scene tho.

It is understandable looking at his background. No one to be blamed but it'll be very nice if he possess the bahasa fluency. Being outside of our country, we are bound to be the representative of our country, excel in whatever we do and make Malaysia proud. All the best to all Malaysians around the globe in whatever you do (must for a good cause).

    I understand why he bad at malay. It is because in Malaysia , we mix the language. We have more than 3 languages in Malaysia. We have Malay , Chinese, Indian and others. So maybe when he was with his family , he didn’t talk in malay. so that’s why he not that fluent. yeah our national language is malay but sometimes we only use it in public. but in family , we talk in other language. so stop spread negativity to him. xoxox

      He lives in Sabah and he is MALAYSIAN CHINESE. For him it's kinda difficult to adapt to a pure/clear malay. Plus, he spent almost most of teenage years, working hard to become a kpop idol and in korea. He needed to learn Korean at the same time if not he will be bash by Korean. But because of that he can't improvise his malay and thus now being bash by malay speaker. However despite that Isaac has improve thus far throughout his career since he knew he will represent Malaysia. You should see his first greeting in Boys24 and i'll tell you that you can see the diff and improvement. From being pelat and not clear, his words now can at least be understood unlike before. So pls stop judging a book by its cover. I'm an ahgase too and i don't like my fandom being like this. Please stop.. :)
