    No one clapped cuz it was a rehearsal lol. You can clearly tell that the guys aren’t getting any energy from a crowd XD when they perform, they go even harder. Plus Jimin was foregoing some moves due to his slippery shoes. Definitely gotta watch some solo Jimin vids. He and Hobi both have street dancing experience, although Hobi is more experienced in that area. Jimin did hip hop a lot when he was young and only did contemporary for around 2 years if I remember correctly, although he was classical trained and top of his class so his skill level in contemporary is likely just as high if not higher than his hip hop skill.
    Kookie trained in the US for a few months in hip hop I believe, but since he practically grew up with BTS and trained with both Hobi and Jimin well into the morning hours of the night during debut years, it’s probably very likely that he picked up aspects of both Jimin and Hobi, which has since developed into his own style. It’s always fascinating to watch the original dance line do the same choreo. Tae is a fantastic dancer as well and since joining the dance line after his solo Singularity in 2018, watching his dancing in comparison to the rest of the dance line is very interesting as well. They all have their own styles, strengths, and weaknesses (even if those weaknesses are barely there).

    Jhope was an underground street dancer and has done dance battles. Mans know how to isolate. Throw him on stage with nothing but a beat and he will give you the performance of a lifetime. He's so charismatic and his stage presence is so professional. He's probably the person that thinks of the performance as a director out of all of them.

  • @dcarmeto
    @dcarmeto Před 4 lety +83

    Jimin starting out in Popping and done battles, but later down fell in love with Contemporary. J-hope is street style. And JK got training once he was a trainee and fell in love with dancing more so than even singing at the time. So you can see how different their take and stances are even when they are dancing the same thing. They are always a threesome. But more so than ever J-hope and Jimin are really magic together when they have to open shows. It's been a hot minute since they had open up an intro to a song, and I can say I miss it. You can honestly think of them like Les Twins if you are aware of them. Twins, but different takes, two different styles yet you can't take one over the other. They are amazing together and amazing apart. Its a treat either way.

    Jhope used to be a pretty well known street dancer in gwanju! he was part of an underground dance team called Neuron, and also went to a dance academy.
    Jimin also has some street dance bg from when he was young but I would say he has mostly contemporary influence since he studied contemporary dance in busan and was actually top of his class!
    Jungkook learned dance (or improved) when he went to LA in 2012 in preparation for their debut. He probably has a mix of both styles since he must have learned from them over the years as well, so there's an influence :)
    Also, they didn't even go as hard as they would in a performance since this is the practice! in some parts you can see jimin testing how slippery the ground is.

    This 3J dance practice is one of my favourites. I'm a JK gal, so my eyes always get drawn to him, can't help it. I agree with your description of their different styles, I don't think you can say which is best, it depends on which style you like. Jimin's moves are smoother (due to his ballet/contemporary talent) but JK is so powerful and strong and his moves are sharper. J-Hope is so talented at hitting every single beat, I think he doesn't always get the credit he deserves when dancing as a group, people often don't realise until they see him on his own.

      Excuse me?
      V, RM, Suga and Jin = no training except what they’ve learned as idol trainees;
      JK = learned hip hop as an idol trainee, with the exception a few weeks he spent in the US - was sent there because he had technique but no ‘heart’;
      JHope - FORMAL training in hip hop/street dance style for years - from childhood;
      Jimin = has years of FORMAL training in virtually EVERY genre of dance , including years of hip hop; he also incorporates his years of martial arts training into his dance style .
      Conclusion: Only Jimin and J-Hope are what you would call professionals. To say JHope is not professional and everyone else is absolutely preposterous!!!

    So this are choreographies that they choose to dance, that's why each one is very their own style:
    1. Jungkook - choreographer: Scott Forsyth ('CoCo' - O.T. Genasis)
    2. Jimin - choreographer: Brian Puspos ('Take You Down' - Chris Brown)
    3. J-Hope - choreographer: Chris Martin & Carlo Darang ('Don't Wanna Fall In Love' - Kyle)
    Of course, they did credit each choreographer in the live performance ;) And you can find the original choreos here on youtube.

    Each of them has their own strengths that make their dancing unique, J-Hope is clearly the sharpest and most precise, whereas JK is the most powerful in his movement and Jimins dance is full of emotion and elegance. Nonetheless, there's a reason why J-Hope isn't "just" a main dancer, but also the dance leader. Let me explain:
    What I love about J-Hope is the fact that he is ON not only for every single freaking performance (no "he has stage presence for songs he likes" excuses here), but literally for every dance practice. Although I prefer watching Jimin dance, J-Hopes precision and sharpness is unmatched (You can especially see it in his hands, he is always fully aware and in full CONTROL over every single inch of his body at all times; each finger having their own place in the choreography, see 9:54-10:12) - he is like a human metronome. His lines are clean, he finishes all the moves properly and he’s never sloppy even when the focus is not on him in BTS performances. He tones it down during group performances such that he plays more of a balancing role. J-Hope is like the ultimate Alpha that purposely plays Beta in the group because he doesn't want to overshadow the other members on stage (We get peeks of his phenomenal ability in Chicken Noodle Soup, which had me floored because he literally out-danced and outshone his VERY talented LA backup dancers). He is a born performer. It makes sense why the rest of BTS always look at him and get jokingly (but probs low-key fr) scared when they do a mistake in choreography. No detail goes unnoticed with J-Hope: he is a perfectionist to a tee, especially when it comes to performances, and this makes him the best fitted to teach the others.
    There are times when I am watching the group performance and sometimes I focus on J-hope involuntarily and then the video is finished and I am like wait

      that alpha/beta analogy was really a perfect way to describe J-Hope! I've always felt that he tones it down in group performances quite a bit, as well. He doesn't really get to shine tho cuz he does this and that's a shame. He hasn't had center time enuff lately or any dance breaks recently, and that is on Big Hit! They need to stop sleep'n on J-Hope!! he's the main/dance teacher for a reason and he should get to show it! The other boys are able to shine when their times come and w/o guilt, so should J-Hope! Other groups showcase their main/best dancers much more than Hobi is! He seems to always be in the back or on the sides mostly and that is just WRONG!! They need to show their pride for him and their respect for what he does and the talent he has! Sorry about my rant, but I get fired up when it comes to Hobi! lol

    The "Fire" dance practice was the first BTS anything I ever saw (though I had heard them plenty in the background of my home life before that). I didn't know anything about them. In this dance practice, when they do that camera pivot at the end and I saw all the backup dancers (who are usually trainees, not professionals) squatting there in the back I said, "Holy crap! They have a whole army back there." And my daughter says, "That's funny mom. BTS' fandom name is ARMY." 😀. "Fire" is still some of my favorite BTS choreo.

    The way I see them, Jimin has the ballet/contemporary background and it lends a sinuous quality to his movement. (you can see it even when he is standing as he often stands in second position) J-hope's straight street dance background shows in just how, I wish I could find a better word to describe it, swaggy his quality of movement. There is no question he comes from a straight street dance background. Kook was a martial artist before dancing and it shows in the strength and precision of his movement. He initially had a lot of trouble expressing emotion when he danced and had to train even more to move from that more disciplined movement style.

They both have their own unique vibes when they are dancing. Also, I think one of the reasons Jungkook is a little bit of both, is simply because he has grown up doing dancing with J-Hope and Jimin, so it's like both of them had influenced his style. At the same time, Jungkook kinda has his own vibe as well. I love to see the three of them dancing together, because it's like a well put together dish. It’s totally inaccurate to say JHope’s dancing is perfection - being the difference between the 2!! If anything, Jimin’s greatest ‘fault’ is that he is a perfectionist and takes that characteristic to the extreme. Jimin also had years of FORMAL training in hip hop, so he’s extremely skilled in that respect. And Jimin is very much involved when it comes to helping teach the other members and suggesting changes to the choreo.

    The stage performance was the practice or rehearsal performance the day before the actual performance. Then you see them practice again at their hotel room before the actual performance. Also face masks (you saw JImin wearing one) are popular in Korea and Korean people take really good care of their skin plus kpop idols have to wear stage makeup often so which can be bad for the skin so they take extra care of their skin or else they will break out a lot. They performed this for 2017 BTS Home Party which was a special performance concert for fans in Korea to celebrate the anniversary of the groups formation (they formed June 13 2013). Here is a link to VLive for the actual performance www.vlive.tv/video/32938 But you can't react to it on youtube because of copyright issues. The whole Home Party is on there too. They do lots of fun things for their anniversary concerts not just perform songs (some songs have never been performed live before so they get rare performances) they will also play games on stage like variety show type games, they will talk to the audience and will even do some fun comedy skit type stuff on occasion.

    Well when you rehearse for 8-16 hours a day you can get really good (and Jimin is still never happy with himself lmao). The dancing is amazing, but they sing/rap at the same time and that makes them even more dope

    In response to your question about Jimin’s solos. He has a whole compilation of his solo stuff but the video is a bit dated ( still pretty damn impressive) just know that there’s more that the creator could add on but the video is still representative of how charismatic and fluid and just down right sexy Jimin can be when he’s dancing! I believe it’s called “Jimin’s solo dance compilation “ or something to that effect. Would love to see you react to it!

    jimin was profesionally trained in contemporary dance
    and jhope was in the street hiphop dance scene so lots of underground battles and such oh and he went to dance school to but he focused mainly on hiphop.
    and jk well he really started dancing after joining bighit stil had talent for it but never got trained proffesional like jhope and jimin. professional training came zfter joining bighit for him. he went to america for a while before their debut to practice dance.

    So for the 3J dance that was for one of their festa performances. Fest is their annual celebration of the anniversary of their debut. The bonus clips are showing them practicing in the airport and hotel rooms to make sure they got the choreo down.
    J-Hope was and underground street dancer and has been dancing since he was a kid. He's the dance leader of BTS and part of the official dance line.
    Jimin did popping when he was younger but also studied contemporary and modern dance in high school he had to learn the more hip hop dances. He is also part of the dance line.
    Jungkook was sent to America to learnnhow to dance hip hop when they were training before their debut. He is also part of the dance line.
    V aka Taehyung is also part of the dance line as of 2018. When the 3J performance was done it was just J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook in the dance line.
    The guy in the yellow sweater during the 3J practice was Suga aka Yoongi.

Yellow hoodie and red shoes goofy dancing in the back was Suga (rapper). He might be quiet and reserved most times but there are moments where he’s a total goof. :)

    There’s a big difference between the back-up dancers and BTS…! Hobi (J-Hope) is an extremely talented, well-known and respected street /hip hop dancer and Jimin trained in everything but is a mind-blowing my gifted modern dancer- including contemporary - and some ballet; he also uses his martial arts in his dance technique. Both have been dancing for many years and are world class dancers and are amazing together. Jungkook had some hip hop training as an idol trainee; he is not quite up there with the other 2 but is, without a doubt, very good and improving over the years!

I need to watch more on my own. =0p The 1st bonus clip looked like J-Hope was showing Jungkook a dance 1st time and he learned it in seconds but that can't be right because J-Hope is the one that learns dances in minutes instead of hrs. They practice 12-16 hrs per day. They hard workers.
