***** I'm gonna be the one to pay and see this because I think it looks hilarious, and I'm a film fan. I personally don't get high or drink or anything like that, I just think it looks funny haha. I think it'll have a strong $50 million opening, and slowly decline from there. Not everyone sees movies opening weekend anymore. And, it'll be the only rated R movie out around that time, so it'll get that audience pretty well, I imagine.

Your point on people bringing their kids and scarring them: That's their own damn fault. The movie has an R rating. If a parent is too stupid to realize what that means OR actually watch the trailer, then they can pay the therapy bills.
Besides, minor psychological scars builds character! Who would I be if my parents hadn't let me watch Watership Down when I was 6? A lot less immune to gore, that's where I'd be.
It’s a bit overblown how scarring watching one of these movies is, most kids don’t even understand what’s happening and will forget about the whole movie after a few weeks, highly unlikely any child would need therapy from seeing an inappropriate movie

Look, if a parent is going to take their kid to this movie, that's on them. It's not the movies fault. It is the parents responsibility to decide what their children are allowed to see. And if after looking at the rating or watching the trailer does not deter them, then they will suffer the consequences. Don't blame the movie.

They're making fun of movies like Toy Story, that is the point. 3D animation as a medium shouldn't be limited to only kids, this is made for adults and is making fun of the whole concept, if they bring their kids it's the parents fault for not being informed enough to what they let their kids consume. That this movie is a satire really went over his head.

Oooh, burn!!! That guy’s just going off on this film back then over nothing before it came out. Now granted, I haven’t seen it, but I have heard some mixed opinions. People thought it was balls-to-the-walls hilarious, others thought it was mediocre. But I’ll give him this, this is not that dreadful “Foodfight” movie.

many people love this and all Ben did was SHIT on it. His point about kids is garbage. Its a parents responsibility to control what their kids watch. If parents take their kids, then its not anyone else problem and/or fault then their own. WE should have to censor our lives for bad parenting.

First off. I completely respect your decision Ben. I completely see your reasoning. And I am in no way saying your wrong in deciding to not see this movie, and I do agree that children shouldn't be brought to R rated movies. But one thing bothered me. Ben I think you underestimate a child's (not a young child a fairly old child about like 10 and above) ability to cope with horrible and bad things, or very sexual/gross innuendos. I agree they shouldn't bring kids to see a R rated film. But you truly misunderstand how much a child can cope with horrible things. It more depends on how much the child can handle yes, and it also has to do with bringing up that child. I was 14 and neck deep in very horrible jokes like seriously bad. But when I was 7 I saw a deer get gutted and skinned. It didn't scar me, and it didn't scare me and it didn't leave a horrible impression. I agree on the fact that you shouldn't bring a child to a R rated film. But people really do underestimate a child's ability to cope, understand, and not get impressioned as easily. I agree young children should not be allowed to be taken in if you can see the parent isn't the most thoughtful person. But a parent should know their child.
Some people can't appreciate a stupid movie. There is always room for a dumb funny movie, which is what this is, it is made to be a stupid fun premise. He seems to be taking way too seriously, which is not meant for this kind of movie. Like to levels where he seems offended at the mere premise that they would come out with a stupid stoner movie.

I agree. They shouldn't, but they do both of those things. And there were children in the theatre, when I saw Deadpool, too. There's just something about things like "hero" & animated movies that make oblivious people assume that they're all "children-friendly." And the funny thing is: some people won't even go see it because they feel that they're too much of an adult to watch anything animated whether it's meant for adults, or not.

I watched a few R rated film when I was kid. Certain one, like Highlander or Terminator. They are not as bad as some R rated films too, so, not saying Kids and R rated is not always bad, but my mom was already aware of what the film is. She be the first one to say it be the parent fault too, if the kids may not enjoy or be bad for this kind of film too.

How can you not like this trailer? Good cast, great plot, tons of humour. I get the atmosphere is dark and gritty but it's fucking 2016 right now, not the 1920s where shit like this would be considered the devil's work. Who signed off on this? A man who knows what a good movie looks like.

when i watched this, my head did not know what to think. it still doesn't.
there is nothing wrong with making a silly movie just to be silly as long as the movie knows it's silly and doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm not laughing at this trailer solely because of the swears. I'm laughing because the comedic timing for that food torture scene was so perfect because they lure you in thinking it's some stupid kids movie trying to rip toy story then bam the food freaks out. I know there's gonna be replies that they knew something was gonna happen cause of the red band and of course that's true but taking that red band out you would never have known otherwise. also did nobody catch the saving private ryan parody near the end of the trailer? how is food in a war zone not fucking hilarious

In fairness to Sausage Party, they are actually going out of their way to attempt to make something like Foodfight, but better. And considering how the bar was set with Foodfight is as so low in the dirt, it does feel that there is no where else to go from there but up.

Del Toro needs to direct Bioshock into an onscreen adaptation. But of its set up and fall from grace, not of the actual plot (that's why we have a game to play). But it needs at least half a billion to get it to look as good as we want it.

Success doesn't not mean good in Hollywood either, it means a redo, a new job, a sequel, a trilogy. A successful movie at the box office means repeating conservatism.

I understand. It's not everyone's taste. It reminds me of the realm of things like Archer or Rick & Morty, where animation doesn't always have to be for kids. Now, the premise of both of those examples are more high-brow in spite of the occasional low-brow sense of humor. This movie's premise is already too ridiculous to turn back. The only way for it to be successful is if they completely commit to everything, from the mindset of each character to the sheer level of vulgarity in each joke. They have to be smart & swing for the fences. If they pull any punches, the critics will rip them to shreds. I know I'll be seeing it!

if you take a kid to a movie and don't check the ratings, it's not the film or studio or theater's fault, besides, most theaters check IDs and warn you it's rated R, some places don't even allow kids under 6 into rated R films after 6pm - this movie is made for adults and it's mean to be parody and crazy, that's the crowd it's aimed at - any parent worth their brain cells would know

"Ahhhh, you'll see, parents will take children to see this because it's animated and they will get influenced by the characters .... " so ? Also, I love the fact that he downgraded the movie to the max and tossed it aside before it even came out, but currently - it's generally and critically liked/loved and made tons of money at the same time.
