Can you cut a boomerang into 3 separate pieces and still have it fly and return???

Might be due to me throwing them for 15 years now on a regular basis. A lot of it comes down to outside conditions. I really only throw first thing in the morning or just before dark. This is when the breeze is null or very light. Then it's about finding the sweet spot as far as how far to the left or right of the breeze you throw. After that is all memory reflex.

I've made a boomerang 1nch across , out of cereal boxes ,it worked launched by flicking off my hand , I Also made 6 inches out of thicker heavy card and profiled the section , and that worked great

I have some here a friend gave many years ago. I also showed them in a video I think on my other channel. Like @loveall871 said you can make them out of cereal boxes. Fun little hobby.
