All 7 members are intensely talented. There is no genre they cannot master. And they are also just amazing people. The bass vocal was RM, leader of BTS and part of the rap line. He RARELY sings. So ARMY lost our minds. All 3 rappers took the lowe notes. They are so /comforting/. If you only how many lives they saved and the good they do and inspire. ARMY has raised multi millions in 2021 including $1M in 24 hours. They inspire us to be better. 🥺💜
So when I feature artists on my channel for the first time, one of the first things I do is make sure they are someone without any kind of past that people are going to jump on me for... because it happens. I like featuring positivity. So most of what you see here on my channel, Dimash, Home Free, BLACKPINK, Teddy Swims, and more with BTS included, are people who are looking to leave the world a little better than they found it. They raise money for good causes, give back to their communities. Thats something that is important to me. So I did read a lot about what they do. And I've seen where they come from and what not. They are very inspiring.
so yes and no. I get why people don't want to use the term K Pop with them. Every song is different, they are more of a culture, and all of that. But that's not solely true for BTS. Rap, and Country are very much the same. Every song is different, every album can have a completely different sound than the last. Those are also genres that have a huge cultural impact, and have become a culture in and of themselves. Even western pop itself, are very very different. Its not like Punk, or Metal, where there are traditional Punk chords, or anything like that. But Country and Rap are still very much a genre of music... in spite of the fact that you can have a lineup of artists that sound nothing a like, or even borderline on pop... Like Florida Georgia Line, who are as much pop as they are Country, and country is still just as much a valid genre, as it is a culture for the artists that fall in it. K Pop isn't a box. Country and Rap aren't boxes.
I think everyone blew my mind here. But Jimin certainly. I've heard him sing through other reaction videos I've done. But nothing like this. It was so nice.
Wow, I'm elated you loved this performance so much! Your high praise is spot on in my opinion. I cried buckets when this first aired, especially since it was paired with a performance of Blue & Grey, which is a tearjerker ballad about depression. Their vocals truly shine here, and I especially love how they constantly switched up the pairs for harmonies rather than keep them matched throughout.
If you like their vocals I think you would enjoy their tiny desk concert on NPR (they sing 3 of their songs) and Film Out live on CDTV (they just posted it on the Bangtan TV channel) it’s such a beautiful song and it’s in Japanese!! Thanks for your reaction!!
No disrespect to the original, when BTS covers a song… they make it their own. BTS are the greatest performers alive! BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!
that's how BTS, they so professional in their craft, they are dedicated and eager to learn new things out of their comfort zone. That's why ARMY love them and very supportive to BTS.
I feel like the purpose of this cover was to make you fall apart in such a painful yet beautiful way just so it could heal you and make your heart ten times stronger than it was before
Well the song does that itself, but unlike the original where you only hear Chris Marti sing, and this feels a little bit more dramatic, as you hear not just the fantastic vocalists of BTS sing, but the rappers as well, and it gives the performance a more intimate, and vulnerable feeling. So I like that. It just opens you up. And people need that sometimes!
@@DanFromHali very well said, I agree with you. the song itself is of course very beautiful, and I feel like bts added another layer of emotion into what was already a masterpiece, and it heightened all of the emotions within the song. they are extremely talented young men, and I was also very pleasantly surprised by the rappers, I knew that they could already sing to some extent (jhope, in particular), but I was really surprised at how well they blended as backup vocals, stayed on pitch and maintained stability during the whole performance. despite not being trained vocalists they didn't falter, and I have to admit that surprised me a bit (besides jhope, who had displayed quite stable vocals on multiple occasions). kudos to them for sure
Thank you for your comments 💜 You should watch their own slower songs, like Blue and grey from this same mtv unplugged 🥰 Link below with eng subs, its an emotional song also.
I was about to comment the same thing! Blue & Grey is a perfect example of a song in BTS’s discography that carries emotional sentiments performed in a relaxed way. Thanks for sharing the link 💜
They did such a beautiful job with this song! Coldplay is one of my favorite bands and this song is absolutely beautiful, it’s one of my favorites of theirs and BTS 100% did it justice!
They can do this with their own music as well. If you want to react to The Truth Untold you will see what I mean. There is no music video, you will have to find a live performance with English Subtitles, but some of the most sad and beautiful lyrics from BTS in that song. There are several versions of this song floating around CZcams, and one of them is from the end of their tour when they had been doing shows every night for weeks, and you can hear the vocal fatigue. It’s just not as crisp as the other versions, so if you hear that you can just switch to another video.
Although I never heard of the Song before, or Coldplay, I had to listen to the original to see and compare. Two things you said that really stood out with me as well was they are singing in English, not their own language, and they pretty much stuck with the original song, even using the guitar solo, which some people say was too long, but this is how it was done and should be. You don't cut corners on a song. The second thing was the harmonies, and out of watching them since 2017, it was the first time I actually heard all the rappers sing. It was shocking and yet showed their versatility. There are many times when you hear a cover song, and it sounds exactly like someone doing karaoke. There are few times when the artist doing the cover, did such a great job that it's memorable on it's own. An example would be when Israel Kamakawiwo'ole sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow and made that version all his own. Another song I like is done by the band Ale'a and their cover of the song Baby Can I Hold You Tonight originally sung by Tracy Chapman.
You aren't the first to suggest either of these songs, and they will be coming. But you nailed it on the head. There are actually songs that I won't listen to covers of. Most of them are standards like, My Way by Frank Sinatra... because they are so simply written, and often covered, that usually what you are hearing is somebody just emulating Frank Sinatra. And there are a fair amount of pop and rock songs that are the same. You know, Queen, Nirvana, and yes Coldplay is someone I'd add in there as well. Where usually what you hear is someone just trying to sing like them. This was an incredible song.
the way your reaction brought me to tears hahaha. as an army a lot of positive reactions have come from this cover, but there were also some incredibly horrible comments made about the boys, more often than not, about their race or their language. so it made me emotional when you mentioned their language, because I'm gonna be honest, as soon as I heard you say english is not their first language I kinda expected you to criticise their pronunciation or to make a racially biased comment (of course, I know now you wouldn't do that, but it was my immediate reaction as soon as I heard language and pronunciation being mentioned). it is pretty sad that as a bts fan, I am so accustomed to hearing those comments that now I almost expect to hear them. So you have no idea how happy it made me when you actually APPRECIATED their pronunciation and recognised that the intricacies of English are very, very different to korean, but that difference should be recognised and appreciated, not ridiculed.
Btw, not sure if you've learned everyone's names yet, but if it helps, this is left to right: Jimin, Jungkook, Suga, V, j-hope, Jin, RM. It was RM who had the deep harmony you commented on.
Yes their version of the song was unexplainably beautiful. I got goosebumps while watching it. I loved the original song already for years but I had never heard a cover that was so beautiful. I think they used each members voice own individual tones to it's strength here. To think that their was actually a man on radio that would get so mad at this cover and say horrible things is insane. This was hands down one of the best covers I might have ever heard.
Thank You so so much for loving this cover by BTS. It is beautiful yet they received so much hate for it. People saying they cant sing etc. They are amazing artists and men.
BTS sings their stories. Hip-hop at heart- meaning they are truthful in their art, even the very few songs that they didn’t write have to mean something to them and express something they want to say. Other groups chase the next hit; BTS tell their own story, and we are here for it.
Hi Dan, since you seem to appreciate stripped down vocals, you should check out their cosy LIVE performances (close up and personal) in their (1) ARMYPEDIA video (early 2019) (2) NPR Tiny Desk Concert (2020, 3 songs back to back) You won’t be disappointed, I promise. ENJOY!
Thank you for appreciating the performance with an open mind. I am a big fan of BTS and this performance brought me to tears. They have a great appreciation for Coldplay and did an amazing job in doing it justice beautifully.
Your reaction brought me to tears to watch you listen and absorb there true talent as a whole . They’re so good and there singing as had me I tears in a stadium in Chicago singing magic shop the true emotional roller coaster of there concert there . Thank you for loving this and showing us all that your true reaction of there singing was so fair and beautiful . Your new subscriber . Thanks. Ghstgurl
I really appreciated how you took your time and tried to explain what made the difference for you in this performance. On your comments about how an English speaker might emphasise words differently from someone who isn't - BTS studies the meanings of the songs they cover, and especially for those members who are less conversant in English, I believe that they make up for their inarticulation/unfamiliarity by imbuing their performance with an intensity of emotion. They have spoken in interviews about how they adjust the way they deliver a line in order to convey certain feelings - they really do live and breathe their art. They've also said that this song had given them great comfort especially during the pandemic period. Perhaps it's a combination of their skill and sincerity that moved you. Thank you for your reaction. :)
You should try reacting to NPR Tiny Desk Home Concert with BTS singing three of their own songs. Much the same sort of format with them sitting while singing, with a live band behind them.
Love your reaction and comments. These guys are so amazing and can deeply touch with they vocals whether their own lyrics or someone else’s. The 3 rappers took the lower octave on the parts with 2 or more members. And Daechwita is a masterpiece so I am going to go see if you reacted to that on your channel. Glad I found you due to the BTS. 💜
I did, and hope you liked the reaction. I looked in to the song more afterward, and seen that it is even deeper than I thought it was. Such a good song.
Great reaction and couldn’t have said it better myself. I so much wish they had this on iTunes, also some other platforms for those that don’t use iTunes. This cover was spectacular, oh and Jin’s last belt was perfection. They all did wonderful but the honorable mention for me is Jin and he’s not even my favorite voice in the band. Was cool to see you moved by it. I can’t imagine anyone thinking this was bad.
Coldplay impacted most of the members a lot more than people realize, way before they became famous. So it was an honor for them and really personal, you could feel that in their performance.
I think (new subscriber here) we reacted the same way. I am actually a hardcore Coldplay fan as well (as being ARMY). When I moved to a whole new country they were my backbone and "Til Kingdom Come" is still going to be my wedding song so I got really excited when I heard this cover and I also did think it was better than the original in the sense that they elevated the song to all its potential and I appreciated it because it honoured it. Coldplay also acknowledged this cover on twitter and when they did, I felt even happier. It was a happy day for me. Thank you so much for this reaction 🙏🏾.
Thanks Suttin, and thanks for the sub. Glad to know you have good taste in music too! I also seen their acknowledgement of this, and that makes me happy when you see original artists give that kind of acknowledgement to well made covers of their music.
Great that you appreciate this performance so much! I found your interpretation about the relevance of them being non-English speakers interesting but I have to say I don't really agree. I don't think that their singing sounding softly (which might or might not have something to do with them being Korean) is really the reason why you/the audience are touched. But it's actually their ability to convey emotions in their vocals, which is one of their strongest traits. That's just BTS, that is not because they are Korean. (There are hundreds of other Korean groups/singers who don't manage to do that.) Jungkook spoke about this recently: To him conveying emotions while singing is actually more important than singing technically perfectly. Jimin said years ago how his biggest aim is to be a singer who can touch his audience with his voice. BTS's ability to connect with their audience on an emotional level through their vocals and performance is probably one of the main reasons why their fans love them so much. What I'm trying to say is: I believe whatever they do with their vocals is due to their outstanding talent, extremely hard work and also conscious decision about how to use their vocals, it doesn't come automatically with them being Korean. Of course, them being Korean influences the way they think and feel about a lot of things, and the Korean language is beautiful, but I think it's important to point out that there are reasons why it's BTS who are the biggest band in the world and not any other Korean group.
Thank you i really like your reaction!! I’ll always support you 😊 And yes jimin’s voice is so angelic 🤧 bts’s songs did help me chilling and healing every times i’m upset
Thank you for your sincere reaction, I'm also a fan of both version, but BTS rendition of FIx You hit my heart so hard, it feels sad, painful, yet comforting. Some recommendation you might like: RM - Moonchild, BTS - Blue & Grey, Life Goes On, and Agust D - People. Stay healthy, may your everyday be a good day :)
This brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. They are such amazing singers. Other stuff live that are amazing is Film Out and Your Eyes Tell (Both are japanese songs) and
imagine being a fan of bts after years, if you feel sad and feel their voices, imagine how feel army after this song, im a fan of bts from 2016 and i feel proud and this song made me feel better. Thanks for this reacts!
Their emotion is so unique, i love them so much, and I really appreciate that you said good things about them.Thank you so much for this amazing reaction:))))
Good choice for your 5’next BTS song now your getting it! They are the most diverse And talented group that their music will always surprise you! Keep going!
A few months back the group Shinee performed a cover of the IU ballad 'Dear Name' and this really reminds me of that, from the staging to the dress, and even to the song itself.
They are good. And their getting better as they grow in their craft with all the diffrent genres they sing, they have been working hard on their English and this was then they have since come out with butter English song and you can clearly see the difference in the articulation of the words and keep in mind they speak Korean, had to learn Japanese an album was Released and working on Chinese so that's Awsome...
Another song that would be a great indicator as to whether or not they could sing is "Your Eyes Tell". The vocal line also has songs recorded by themselves, so they're worth a listen to also; my favorites are "Dimple" and "Truth Untold".
Really enjoyed your break down. Sons to listen to from BTS to get a feel of what ther are about: Black swan ( not only visually stunning, but so are the lyrics), Singularity, Joke, House of cards, Blue and grey, MTV unplugged Paradise ( under rated). This should whet your appetite for some good music from BTS. All the best with the channel.
I love that you got misty coz it shows that the reaction is genuine. Be assured that BTS is the real deal. There’s one recent interview where the best question was asked to Jin and Jin gave the most witty and wise answer possible. When asked if he’s ever felt his good look sometimes overshadows how good a musician he is, Jin answered being good looking should be an additive element and it doesn’t take away anything. It’s just like “decorations on delicious food”. If BTS was food, it is the most divine dish there is with or without the visuals.
Thank u for reacting to them.. well u should react to their live performance recording a song in japanese language title "film out" how they amaizingly blending and harmonizing between the vocal line in very high tone and the rapline...
For the vocal line, please react to House of Cards live and Young Forever live. There was just a newly released version of Film Out from Bangtan TV. It also has a music video. It is the closing song force Japanese movie called Signal. Each member also has solo songs. Since you liked Jimin, I recommend his song serendipity the live version.
Hi Dan… Just want you to know I truly enjoyed your reaction to BTS cover of Fix You, by Cold Play. I grew up listening to gospel and country music. Therefore, I never heard the song, until BTS the cover. So, after listening to BTS, I listen to Coldplay and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to say, I enjoyed BTS cover, better than Coldplay original. I thought that maybe it was because I was a little biased towards BTS, but hearing you say you enjoyed this better made me happy. I will say this, the song made me a little teary-eyed also the words are beautiful. I did go back and watch the reaction to Daechwita, and came back here to subscribe. And reading some of the comments, I see that you receive you received quite a few request for certain songs. Since some of my favorites were also included in these request I will not put those here. I do thank you for taking the time to learn more about the BTS. I am a 65 year old woman and have been a fan for almost 4 years. I appreciate their talent, your dancing, and their sincerity which is never changed. Looking forward to more reactions from you on BTS.💜💜💜💜💜💜🇺🇸
Hey MamaBear, thanks for the subscribe, and the well written comment. I absolutely LOVE Coldplay. A lot of people think they sound generic, but their lyrics and music are wonderful. But as much as I enjoy Chris singing this song, the way that they did this so elegantly was just perfection. Don't know if you checked out any of my other reactions, but if you grew up on Gospel and Country, I started this channel with reactions to the Country A Cappella group, Home Free. I wasn't a fan of Country before this channel existed, and am slowly being brought in to the fold. And as far as Gospel goes, I didn't know that The Oak Ridge Boys were a thing that existed until reacting to Home Free perform Elvira with them!
Even cover song sounds they own it!!😍😍😍 They are good in giving emotions to the song😍😍 pls react also to film out, life goes on, you're eyes tell, truth untold and Crystal snow
I think you’d enjoy their NPR: Tiny Desk concert. It’s one of my favorite performances of theirs and they perform 3 of their songs-Dynamite, Save Me, & Spring Day
I feel that BTS not only more than did justice to this song, they actually paid homage to the power of the lyrics. I love this!
Yes! Absolutely! I really enjoyed this. I've watched this, and have shown this to several people, since. Really, really good.
The original version is beautiful, but BTS' cover of this hurts me in my soul in the most heartbreakingly beautiful way.
I know. They did it in such a beautiful, and meaningful way.

Thank you for your reactions! I hope you react to more bts live performances!! They are great! I recomend the tiny desk concert!
It will be coming. I love the Tiny Desk Concerts!
Coldplay impacted most of the members a lot more than people realize, way before they became famous. So it was an honor for them and really personal, you could feel that in their performance.
They present the song very sincere and seriously and it carries like Hymn can.
It’s amazing how you were able to articulate how they delivered this performance. Thank you for such a thoughtful and genuine reaction!
You're so right, and even Coldplay themselves agreed
I am so pleased that you liked it because I think they sing it beautifully. Love your reactions 💜
Thanks so much Rebecca! They really do :)
If you want to hear more songs like this where it really showcases their vocals, check out live performances of YOUR EYES TELL, and FILM OUT.
Thank you dmrules!
the fact they didn't overdo it shows how respectful they are to the original song
Bts👑
The Truth told by the BTS vocal line , and Your eyes tell. It will make you more of a fan !
3:03 That's Jimin and his angelic voice :]
I love this version of Fix You - it's simply beautiful!!
This brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. They are such amazing singers.
Other stuff live that are amazing is Film Out and Your Eyes Tell (Both are japanese songs) and
Tremendos vocales de JIMIN JIN TAE Y JUNGKOOK 🎶🎵💜👏🏻👏🏻🎶🎶 los 7 estuvieron increíbles con este cover tan hermoso 😍
imagine being a fan of bts after years, if you feel sad and feel their voices, imagine how feel army after this song, im a fan of bts from 2016 and i feel proud and this song made me feel better. Thanks for this reacts!
It's a beautiful performance of Fix You and I'm a big Coldplay fan being a Brit and having seen them in Concert a few times.
That base vocal is from RM’s he has such a calming voice when he sings I highly recommend his solo mixtape MONO
Their emotion is so unique, i love them so much, and I really appreciate that you said good things about them.Thank you so much for this amazing reaction:))))
Jinsss😍
Jimin's voice is a blessing to the world.
Everytime i listen to their fix you cover i always cry. Idk why
I love Jungkook's voice that touches
my heart
They are good. And their getting better as they grow in their craft with all the diffrent genres they sing, they have been working hard on their English and this was then they have since come out with butter English song and you can clearly see the difference in the articulation of the words and keep in mind they speak Korean, had to learn Japanese an album was Released and working on Chinese so that's Awsome...
they are sooo talented.. you should check CRYSTAL SNOW- HOUSE OF CARDS- THE TRUTH UNTOLD- PIED PIPER (all live)
Another song that would be a great indicator as to whether or not they could sing is "Your Eyes Tell". The vocal line also has songs recorded by themselves, so they're worth a listen to also; my favorites are "Dimple" and "Truth Untold".
JIMIN!!
Great reaction! It's definitely a beautiful rendition that got me all teared up.
With this song the Rap Line officially became part of the Vocal Line💜
It was beautifully well don :D
For great live vocals try their Tiny Desk Concert (1 english 2 korean songs) and Your Eyes Tell live (Japanese song). They are soooooo good live!💜
Since you liked Jimin, I recommend his song serendipity the live version.
many songs that will amaze you by their voices ... they are diamonds, talented and have beautiful voices that will make you happy like me
I cried when I heard this as well
The original is GOOD......
but..damn..BTS version
brings out more
EMOTIONS that i can't
Explain..this is too much..
Great Cover by BTS
Really enjoyed your comments. Your appreciation and the details you provided was deeply felt.
Woah I was NOT expecting you to say it's better than the original. I 100% agree but still wasn't expecting it lol.
Even Coldplay congratulated them on Twitter - in korean! That's like the ultimate praise, having the original artists' approval.
Pls do a reaction ..tiny desk concert..& film out...amazing voice of everyone esp my Jimin
BTS always brings on the feels.
Even cover song sounds they own it!!😍😍😍 They are good in giving emotions to the song😍😍 pls react also to film out, life goes on, you're eyes tell, truth untold and Crystal snow
Jimin voice is healing this song
Ah man. You are at the tip of the iceberg. There is soooo much variety and depth to them
Thank you for your honest reaction.
Coldplay liked how BTS did this.
Thanks for this wonderful reaction.
I think you’d enjoy their NPR: Tiny Desk concert. It’s one of my favorite performances of theirs and they perform 3 of their songs-Dynamite, Save Me, & Spring Day
I will be doing that pretty soon, I dare say!
You should definitely react to BTS room live that came out earlier this week, you’ll love it
I will try and find that, thanks M J :D
@@DanFromHali you should go to BTS official page and find it there 💜 thanks for your reaction! I enjoyed it

They're so talented. I don't understand why they receive hate :/
