  • Some solos and sounds of the Fender Pro Junior IV Tweed amp playing a blues gig. Guitar is a old Gibson 335 with Paf pickups and D addario nickel wound 11s. Only effect on is a little reverb. Amp volume was around 2 o clock, tone 10 o clock, guitar volume 7-10, neck or bridge pickup. I liked the amp!

    What I like about the Pro Junior IV is that it takes my pedals extremely well. The combination of both this amp and the pedals make the sound perfect. On that version, it also breaks up later so you get more headroom even at 15 w.

    Fantastic playing! Just picked up one of these amps, very cool to see how it might function with a band. I also have a 335

    Great blues playing. Cheers! Could you tell me what overdrive pedal did you use?

      Thanks! The pedals are off, you only hear the amp with a bit of reverb.

    What a great performance man! What mic are you using to mic the amp?

      Thanks. Unfortunately i don't know what mic it is, probably a standard shur?

    So here's the deal - if a Fender Pro Jr. is good enough for Jeff Beck, then it's good enough for me. I've had five and if I had to recommend one above all others, it's the newest FPJ IV in tweed. Buy one, they're built like tanks.

    Great video! Love my PJrIII. I find it to be quite loud and can’t imagine turning it up to 2:00. I play plenty of room, and very rarely a room larger than a small blues club. I always get asked to turn down and I, barely at 9:00 on the volume! Any suggestions? Really enjoyed your playing and tone.

      Use a flat overdrive or a clean boost with it!

      Thanks! I use a Keeley Super Phat Mod, but I’d prefer to go straight in.

      @@jonathangaileymusic That's the tradeoff with a non master amp, you get superb response and cleanup, but not on any volume. I'm still experimenting with this one, going to try an EQ pedal next gig, so boost and eq in one. Or the heck and just go straight in too :)

    What was the Volume and Tone set to in this video?

    • @leventopoulos
      @leventopoulos  Před rokem +2

      usually i put the volume 1-2 o clock, and the tone about 10 o clock. It can be too loud for many gigs if you want a lot of overdrive just from the amp.
