    Very nice !!!
    I am 63 yes old and am a total car / truck guy , since I was 5 yrs old. I am retired diesel mechanic and Ford's is what I love the most.
    Back in 1986 my wife's father called me on Friday evening to ask me if I wanted to go truck shopping the next morning, of course I said I would love to. First dealer we went to was Santa Monica Ford, he had purchased a new 1967 Ford Galaxy XL convertible for my wife's mother 19 yrs prior.
    He had seen an ad for another dealer who was having a huge truck sale ,and claimed to have a huge inventory of new 86 fords, this dealership was a Ford truck super dealer.
    Dad knew what he wanted, this dealer had some nicely optioned trucks on the showroom floor and on the lot as well. We went home that Saturday with the exact truck he was looking for. 1986 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat 4X4, tow package, limited-slip rear differential, 460 ci , C --6 automatic, A/C , pw & pl, cruise tilt , tach trip, AM / FM Cassette Stereo, supper cooling, Engine oil cooler , Transmission cooler, Roof clearance lamps.
    He owned it till his passing in 2011. I purchased it from my mother in law in 2011 and still own it today with 129,267 original miles. The original engine is completely rebuilt with no expense spared. A California truck its whole life. No Rust anywhere, Not a daily driver but it gets driven regularly by me only.

    Nice old truck. I love the bull nose era Fords. My Aunt had an 83/84 model in a two tone metallic brown/bronze color that I used to drive when I was 15 and 16 years old. It was surprising how well the 302/5.0 motors pulled those full sized trucks around even when they had the older 3 speed trans and highway gears. During that same era I drove a few square body Chevys which I also liked. But nothing was better than the bull nose and brick nose fords. They just looked and drove great!

      @codyluka8355 Před rokem +1

      @@tonyscarcare5657 I like the 80-86 F series trucks. The redesign was a worthy one but I wouldn't say they were the best ones from Ford though. Ford began experimenting with different things at the time that didn't work out too well. The lightened "Swiss cheeze" frames on the F100 and F150 were not the strongest by far, albeit lighter in weight. And the introduction of the 3.8 Essex V6 with hopes to replace the 300 inline 6 was not a popular move. The 80-86 trucks certainly had impressive features and optional equipment making them very attractive and comfortable but sadly, many of these are no longer on the road now. I still see quite a few of the 73-79 models still on the road though and those years are now considered classics and highly sought after. The Camper Specials in the Ranger XLT trim are real beauties.

We recently purchased a 1986 bullnose and need to replace the dash lights and were wondering if we find a NOS tachometer if that if plug and play? Is there a video where you show how to do either of these. Also my husband is looking for an auto meter and his buddy’s recommended Fluke brand. Would that be good one. Thanks and keep up the great outstanding videos!

      Thank you again so much for watching! The tachometer is not exactly plug and play but really quite simple to add. I'm hoping to do a video on that really soon, as the weather is really getting nice. The cluster is easy to get out. I would definitely stick with the factory tachometer.

Same interior as that with all the bells and whistles, but i have a question. This truck i just got (it's the 5.0 EFI with the AOD transmission, it will start and run perfectly fine but as soon as you try and put it into any gear it stalls. I drove a new Chevy and a new Dodge and a new Ford all single cab long beds, and the Ford was so far superior and ahead of the Dodge and the Chevy it wasn't funny but I couldn't part with $13000 so I bought a used 82' Ford F150 which was the best vehicle I've ever owned...

      How is the tailgate wrong? I have the dealer brochure from 1986 that clearly shows it. I've probably had more 1986 F150s than any other single person. That was the XLT Lariat only panel used for 1985 & 1986 only. I have three of them NOS in the box. I've had to prove so many people wrong about this. I don't understand where you get your information from. Now I'm gonna have to do a video on the 85-85 Ford tailgate and dealer brochure. Stay tuned!
