@@GraveVisitations More than happy to help GV, your channel is phenomenal, both you & Sue have enriched my life so very, very much, always a pleasure to watch your adventures...👍👍
This was a sad adventure. Poor little boy and poor ISOLA, very sad but a wonderful little poem from her brother. All deaths are tragic. My wife and I were 4months apart in age. My wife first got cancer in 1993, again in 1998. We lived life to the fullest with our children in our arms never parting without saying I love you. As life passed along and happy as could be, her cancer returned with a vengeance in 2011 at the young age of 49. She only spent 17 days in the hospital and never came home. These last 13 years have been harder than I could ever have imagine. I cried every day for six straight years along with our children. I wish I could have said words of encouragement or maybe a little poem, but I just can’t do it. There is a hole in my heart that can never be filled and even with the passage of time my tears still flow for my beautiful wife Janet.
You loved her so, as did your children. Of course you cry, why shouldn't you? Cry and release the sorrow in your soul . Think of how lucky you were/are to have experienced such depth of a connection with a fellow traveller in life. What if you had never met her? Impossible to imagine. She enriched your life with your precious children - how amazing! She was your soulmate and you will rejoin her once again (not yet), for the next adventure together. But you sound so kind and caring. Perhaps one day you will meet another precious love. No nonsense now about comparing these ladies! They will be different and both very, very special. Don't dismiss the thought. Your children and grandchildren would be thrilled to see you so happy and fulfilled and remember you still have a great deal of life left to live. Each human soul must live to its greatest potential so don't shut down that wonderful , loyal and generous heart, open the shutters on it, just a bit and when you can stand it, a little bit more and more. You need to sort out all that love left in you! Give yourself some, because you need it so much, give some to your darling children, your other family and friends. And remember to keep some behind for the future! You're going to require it, I feel sure!! xxx
Oscar would have been about 18 when he wrote Requiescat for Isola, but 12 or 13 when she actually died. Oscar's mother, the Lady Speranza, was a hopeless romantic and a free spirit. It is easy to divine where Oscar derived his sensibilities. He had his mother's sense of theatre, so was a natural-born, gifted, and extremely successful playwright. Loving to be at the centre of all, he detested "scenes" with his paramour, Lord Alfred Douglas. After he was released from prison, he swiftly retreated to France where he maintained a very low profile until his death.😮 I could imagine Speranza being prostrate with grief, genuinely so, with the death of Isola, as much weeping and wailing as could be considered "decent" for the wife of a Knight. Once everything was over, she would have pulled herself together, pretty sharpish, and resumed the "salons" including the good and the great, which had become a staple in her life.
This was a deep and meaningful stroll around some stunning stones GV. I hope the ornate one can be covered to preserve it. Thank you. Be safe, Deb of Oz XXX.
Both of my sisters have passed on, first when I was a young boy and then again when in my early twenties, not a single day goes by since without remembering the love & profound heartbreak caused by their precious transient lives, until we meet again; Rest in Peace, most softly ...I can sorely imagine the devastation & despair felt by Oscar, so very tragic to be forever parted from a sibling in childhood!!💜💜

Great video, GV! Very sad and tragic story about the 14-year-old and the gun accident. (As an American, I can really relate to these types of needless gun accidents.)
A beautifully kept graveyard and some wonderful 'stories' of those resting there. Hi G.V. & Serenity Sue, that was really nice of Matt the caretaker, to let you in and explore the history of this marvelous cemetery. The Poem Resquiet by Oscar Wilde in memory of his 9 year old sister he lost was hauntingly beautiful. There is just so much history, so many sad death's the You boy who died of a gunshot. It was Very Cool to see Your Heritage Sue, I however forgot your surname...I'll blame it on getting Older or dementia, lol. It was a Great video, You Guy's do a superb job with class exploring cemeteries and remembering the dead from so long ago. Time is So short, and no one knows when their time is up. Man that is a beautiful looking Cemetery, very well kept too. Sad what happened to that 14 year old boy, amazing that one person lived to be 104. Much respect to the Caretaker, great video Cathal and Sue
Thanks Matt❤ This place is so well kept no ivy(hate that stuff). And a picture with the now King😊The stonework on the table top is awesome and 104? Needs too be protected❤ Thanks GV and Sue❤
Enjoyed watching! When you talked about ancestry mine is Irish from my grandmother from my mother’s side, mother. My great grandfather’s name was John Brown. Then French from my dad’s mother. I met two great aunts that were nuns that lived to 104, 102 as a child about seven years old I met them at a family reunion. Then my dad’s, dad family was German and the came by boat to the US and some went to Australia. We find dad’s last name in NY and it’s not one of those well known names. Then my mom’s, dad was Indian. I had ancestors from the Trails of Tears. So I have a mixture. My dad use to joke we’re kinda like the best bred mutts. lol a little bit of the best.
Top number GV,filled with sadness and joy, sadness for the young circus boy and Oscar wildes little sister who both died young,May they both R.I.P. AND great to see a little insight to serenity’s family, god bless, take care both of you,🙏🙏👋👍👍🇦🇺
Thanks so much for this tour of this wonderful graveyard. Is that Church an active Church today? So sad about the 14 year old boy and Oscar Wilde's little sister. Great job GV!!!
Hi GV Steve from England, great video shame about the young boy who died. Nice headstones on some of the graves. Nice what oscar wilde did for his younger sister.
A couple of my adult children went to Newfoundland. A lot of people in the small towns around have their last names, and to see the cemeteries full of your last name. It was a strange feeling for them.
Great video. Sad and informative at the same time. I would love to come hang out with you guys and visit the beautiful, and sometimes haunting places you take us.
Beautiful church and graveyard, I assume the church is still in use. The tombstones are awesome! Very tragic story, about the young boy who accidentally shot himself. 😔 Anyone who cannot lock up and store guns safely, has no business owning them, period! Thank you very much GV and Sue, for another great walking tour. Take care 🙂
I loved this video, the stories are so poignant ...as they were then, and are today as well 😔 I wanted to tell you of something that came in to my CZcams feed. When I clicked on it it was puzzling as the guest and interviewer were obviously American, by their accents.
