I remember years ago catching a decent haul of BIG pouting when fishing on a boat out of Weymouth. I kept most of the decent ones, and since I was on a camping holiday at the time I gave a bunch of them away to my nieghbouring happy campers who were very pleased. We all had a big fish-BBQ party that night and the fish tasted really good cooked on the open flames. Maybe simply because it was decent honest food in an outdoor environment but they went down well (esp when accompanied by a few glasses of white wine)!!

Fishmongers call pollock, "coley". It's slightly grey but it's half the price of cod or haddock and you get much bigger fish, with big flakes, and it tastes just as good.

Maybe you should do a "bait fish" cook off and see which one tastes the best. Would be interesting to see what fish normally people use for baiting and eat some to see if taste is the reason they are bait. Great content bro, I have watched your videos a lot and really enjoy them.

You really should make a trip to Norway mate, all those nice pollack would still be considered small up there, plus you have coalfish everywhere who get even bigger. But even with pollack, 3 foot is a common size
