youtube youtube I hope so buddy. I remember the night Dime was shot. I was working for UPS night shift. I walked into work around 1am & found out what had happened. I instantly broke down. Yesterday morning, waking up to hear the news about Vinnie Paul felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest. I just hope they are at peace now. Their music & legacy will live on Forever! 🤘😈🎸 🎛️ 🥁💀🤘 hi
its a parents worst nightmare having to bury there children before they go...despite losing Vinnie and Dime, he's a granddaddy and needs to instill his good genes within the new ABBOT BLOOD. for the prophecy reveals, a new abbott will rise from the ashes to conquer and shred again..
Off to see the Wizard Hamilton It Amazes Me how Much This Band, and That Man meant To Me an Every Pantera Fan, He's Gone But We're still Hearing Taking shots and Raising Hell, and Making sure The Name Dimebag Darrel Will Never be forgotten RIP Brother!! 😈👊
I’m just 13 and I’ve realized is that I missed a generation of legendary music Rest In Peace Dimebag and Vinnie and may my generation carry on their legacy
The great thing is, the music will not be gone in our lifetime and it's all there to listen to now. You are wise, Always stay wise. You must be about 16 now. I'm only 40 years older than you. I wish I could be 16 again. Don't waste a single day because it's true how fast time Flys. I was a single dad and my son is almost 30 now. Where did the time go?.............in fact my son had just been born when Pantera was touring with Skid Row '91-92. Money was tight but I spent the whole weekend trying to win tickets on KISW 99.9fm in Seattle , and at one point I was caller 9 of 10 and I said heyyyyyy! I'm #9 and I know you got tons of tickets left because everyone was choosing John cougar Mellencamp tickets and he said I caught him in a good mood and he gave me 2 tickets. Not only that but the radio station winners were in their own area and I was the only on screaming and yelling and waving my hands and Vinnie noticed me and at the end of the show he walked to the front of the stage and pointed up at me and mouthed "are you ready" and I said hell yeah! And he tossed a drum head to me like a Frisbee and it barely missed my fingers and we both put our hands on our heads like.... oh damn! Then we gave each other a thumbs up and he walked off, I'll never forget that. I like to think he heard me scream hell yeah and remembered me when naming his new band but I doubt it......lol
I know this was commented 4 years ago but for you to say that simply shows how well beyond your years you are. To see the younger generation still enjoying what Dime and Vinnie had to offer just shows that they truly were one of a kind.
Dimebag is the only celebrity that made me feel a personal sense of loss after their passing. Celebrity or not, we're all human beings, but Dime really had a profound influence on me in many ways. Without a doubt he was one of the most unique, talented and gifted human beings that ever picked up an instrument and I am thankful every day that he shared that gift with all of us. Though, I was only able to see Pantera once I will always cherish the memories of that show some 16 years ago. I have seen a lot of concerts in my life but nothing ever came close to the experience I had that day and I will never forget it. We love ya Dime and we miss you every day.
kwantoon my very close great aunt died the same day. to tell the truth i was was more fucked up about the news about dime. Being a guitar player thats the effect dime had on me. I was fucked up inside for a while after his death.
Man I think alot of people felt that way. I cried all day and just sat outside literally looking at the sky going "Why?". I was fucking destroyed man. He was my hero. I owned one of his guitars and had it autographed. It's a Dimeslime model. I just lost a brother the year before. It was a terrible time for me. Got really lost in drugs for a long time. That really pushed me over the edge. His guitar playing was like religion for me. I studied it constantly. When he was murdered, I couldn't touch that guitar for months.
hard to watch, Vinnie's voice cracking did me in. not many things can make me emotional, dime still gives me goosebumps when I listen. loss of a pure musical genius that will never make sense.
I have never met Dimebag. But i cry everytime i see or hear some1 talk about him. He's music is just amazing, so much attitude and power. I hope he is resting in peace.
I am a very grim and cold guy, my emotions are nearly dead. My whole life I've been witnessing tragedies, death and agony and sometimes I don't think I cared but everytime I read, watch or think about Dime's death I'm crying almost everytime... It's a very bizzare, different type of overwhelming sadness...
I've seen pantera 6 times, one of them was in San Jose opening for Black sabbath.Actualy I've seen them 3 times in San Jose,a couple of times on Sacramento,And San Francisco.Every time they blew the roof off the place.I feel lucky for having those memory's.
Are you a Bay Area native? I am and have seen many shows in SF, and especially SJ. Great place to live and see concerts! I envy the shows you got to see. I was told that at Pantera concerts the entire floor section was one great big mosh pit, can you confirm?
The song is called "in this River" by Black Label Society, written before Dime's death and performed as a tribute by Zakk to his good friend at this memorial.
That date on dimes plaque was my 32nd birthday . And I'm still playing there music 12 hours a day because he's still the best power groove guitarist ever.
To see this well fitting tribute to a class act guitarist, brought tears to my eyes. The song played by Zakk Wylde, literally brought me to tears, as well. We all wished Dimebag was still alive, I would give an eye tooth, just to hang out with him, slug back a Black Tooth Grin, blaze a bleezee of some good buds with him, & trip out on some of his Pantera stories. God Bless You Dimebag, we hope to see you wailing with the likes of Hendrix, Lemmy, Hanneman, Rhoads, & many others, that have paved a way to put metal on the map; but in this case, let it be put on Texas, where it all began.
Sometimes when i think of it, when u become too good at something, u might go early. Ya know. All good people taken too soon and dimebag is one of them. They born to bring happiness to us all after that., they will spread their wings and becomes an angel.
Well, pinch harmonics helps you to play the note 1 octave higher. So he can just play the same note 1 octave higher. This is technically playin ph on a piano lmao. Wait why the fuck did l write this. Whatever, have a nice day...
Doug Williams someone's having a bad day.... also not even close to being emo, and if I was, so what what do you have against emo's hey man leave them be, if that's them then that's them
2018! I’m still here bro! How are you doing upstairs in the heaven? I’m grateful to know you! Your deeds will never leave us! Forever! REST IN PEACE! GET YOUR PULL!
The man is my all time hero. Zak - you have a heart the size of the sun. You have a wonderful voice bud. I can see why Dime loved you. A credit to humanity.
***** bullshit. neither of them looks or let alone sounds like he has been crying. in most cases you may be right, but with this one it's just the rockstars' egos that have them wear their sunglasses constantly - even at a funeral.
Dimebag Darrell was a huge influence on my playing and I'm saddened to this day of his murder, sad that his father lost one of his sons which is one of the most tragic things when a parent buries their own child, my condolences to this day go out to the Abbot family, and I wish I would have had the honor of meeting Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbot.
Now he has lost both of his sons. Not only has he suffered losing his wife, but now both of his children before him. My heart absolutely breaks for that poor man.
They are together now... keep on rocking forever you fucking legends! can't believe i'm actually writing this... another piece of my childhood has gone way too soon... they just keep on leaving us. listening to their dad speaking.. damn it broke my heart. RIP brothers! forever missed! ♥
I entered a local guitar contest in Dallas where the top 10 cassette tapes were chosen out of 100+ submitted. The top 10 got to play live in a place off Story Lane (forgot the name of the club). Pulled numbers out of a hat to set the order of each guitarist to go out and jam for a few minutes. Guess who pulled the number 1 and went first? The rest of us were in a side room and when this 16 year old kiddo started whaling, you could hear a pin drop in the room where 9 other guitarists realized something incredible was going on. We all filed out onto the balcony (every ego blown by then) and all watched in amazement. Dimebag (or Diamond Darrell at the time) won the Randall stack of course. But I look back at that moment when we had a quick chat and he handed me his pick that read "Diamond Darrell," and WOW what an amazing journey he had ... how much he influenced so many future guitarists and bands. I've still got that pick and it'll never touch a guitar. RIP to you Dimebag. You're in the pantheon of guitar gods now ... what a legacy!
Poor Dad lost both boys, I can't imagine how he feels, Dime I never met him but I felt I known him for ever, he did it for all of us that loves metal music, and Vince Paul the nice's guy I Hurd he loved he's friend's and family and fans rest in peace bothers I'll miss you both very much.peace
Oh Vinnie paul i know that feel :'(( ... i lost my sibling too my sister :'( . R.I.P Dimebag you will always be my best guitarist in human history above every guitarist in this world!!
God Damn It!!!! OK, I hope nobody watching this hates me for saying this. I used to love, and still do, Michael Jackson. unfortunately, he died two years before I found out he existed. I used to cry because I would never get to see him. I always watched videos of him everyday, until it got to the point where I felt I personally knew him. and every day, I would wake up, and be stuck in a time loop or something. mourning someone you never met, everyday, because you weren't able to see them die. now. my dad introduced me to Pantera a few days ago. I immediately felt in love with the guitar. I am learning guitar, and my dad is excellent. I really want to listen to more but I know that, after watching this and hearing how awesome he was, I'll want to get to know him, and end up crying again because he is gone.
Fuck man i still choke up thinking about Dimebag, so sad and a waste of a great guy and a killer musician. I spent a large part of my teenage years listening to Pantera. RIP Dimebag. RIP Jeff Thompson. RIP Nathan Bray RIP Erin Halk. To his family, friends, bandmates, metal fans everywhere.....massive condolences to this day, he is clearly still very missed.

Mr Abbot the coolest dad ever. Next to Cliff Burton's dad
They are both amazing
Read the books, he is a greedy asshole. Besides, why did he call him Dimebag instead of Darrell?
I surely know that Cliffs dad is not an asshole
Juan Pablo Vivanco stfu
I've read the two books, bitch, saw them live twice and play a lot of songs on guitar, and you what, saw some youtube videos?
I broke when Zakk started singing. That song is so powerful..
Say what you wish. Dime will always be missed. Nobody will ever fill those shoes.
Tears for a mad guitarist! Loved your intensity!! No body can even cover your solos!!!
It gets more emotional every time i come across this video R.I.P Vinnie and Diamond Darrell

Gotta love Sister Rita! I met her once and she was such a beautiful soul!
To see this well fitting tribute to a class act guitarist, brought tears to my eyes.
The song played by Zakk Wylde, literally brought me to tears, as well.

I'm not a pantera fan but why are my eyes watery? Damn. When everyone was showing their respects It just hit me hard. RIP Dimebag.
damn what in pantera do you not like or is it just not your music?
Smh. Not a Pantera fan. But have respect for Dimebag that's like a slap in Darrells face.
no its not wtf, i think he would understand that not everyone likes his music but can pay respects to him if he dies
"why are my eyes watery? "
Because you're human.
Not Jesus dude really? Fuck off man! Not a dimebag fan! Gtfo bitch!!!
