5. If you were to start a startup today in which industry would be intrested in? Or the industry that will grow massively in the near future.

I love how you frame the "crazy idea that you can validate with first principles thinking". It's easy to come up with crazy ideas, but most of them will never work. Thinking in first principles will show you if you truly have something interesting!

So I was wondering ! when you invest in a startup with your fund, how do you deal with investment that could be great for you as a VC but " bad" for your portofolio lets say your invest in a potential " coinbase killer" even if you have stakes in coinbase ? What is your ethics about it ? cause you could fund something that could hurt you previous or actual investments ( with maybe some tension with the founders ) Just wondering ! thanks for the answer !
We try not to invest in things that directly compete. And if they are adjacent we try to make sure different partners are the primary contact so that if they do collide it’s easier for us to make sure information about each startup stays private.

It's rare to see people giving advices with examples
...so now I have a question: I am thinking about doing Launchpeer...dropping $10,000 in to get there overall services, but some of their services (like incorporation) I already got. The most pivotal thing I need right now is a place to sign up so users can access the free, fun and celebratory Front End of "You and Me Across Time", and the gateway that leads to the subscription-based Back End...along with a template in the Back End that allows users to build their personal story... Would the $10,000 (plus salaries) do more good and be equally effective by going to Code 2040 instead of Launchpeer?

you are right when everybody else is also right you'll make a very little gain
you are wrong when everybody else is right you'll lose a lot or loose everything
you are right when everybody else is wrong your gains will be huge
