      If I was 6'10 & as physically gifted as that guy, you wouldn't actually need to work that hard. He's doing the absolute bare minimum in order to skate by & doing everything in his power to avoid shooting the basketball. Imagine going to your job everyday & spending 80% of the time in the bathroom hiding so you don't need to reply to emails, or answer phone calls, or talk to customers, or load trucks or whatever. The boss would fire you almost immediately if you kept doing it. He certainly wouldn't keep you around for years paying you tons of money to do nothing.

    You gotta point out that the Hawks series was not a one off - it was the final straw of a 4 year issue of Simmons NEVER working on his game - NEVER taking ANY accountability- he backstabbed the entire team who wanted to win as he sabotaged them for his ego and narcissism.
    Ben was babied at LSU and the Sixers - He tried to get them to trade Embiid the year before. We lost Jimmy Buttler cause of that bum. That was the last straw.
    Ben was never gonna be as good as he was hyped to be cause it was potential - and he didn’t care at all.
    Ben is having surgeries to avoid playing.
    People will absolutely do that when they are that scared of something. He can rehab and get paid almost 40 million dollars to not pay and just chill.
    He was never that good in Philly. The team was built to hide his flaws and that was more enabling.
    The entire reason Joel Embiid can shoot 3s is cause Simmons refused to play on the perimeter- and all he wanted to do was sit under the basket.
    What form would Simmons been regaining?
    Simmons mental health is an excuse - I am a therapist - there is a difference between a mental health issue and someone who is a narcissist who thinks they are above accountability for anything they do or refuse to do.
    Simmons was coached by a family friend at LSU - he was coached by a family friend on the Sixers - Brett Brown - got him fired cause Ben REFUSED to attempt any 3 pointers when Brett asked Ben to take 1 three a game. Not make one - attempt one.
    Simmons didn’t shoot a 3 for the rest of that season.
    Simmons - a person who is insisting he is a starting PG in the NBA - cause the Sixers tried to make him a point forward and he refused cause he wants the ball in his hands and is scared to shoot foul shots - this guy has made 5 three pointers in his entire career - 5.
    That’s less than one a season.
    What are we talking about here??
    This guy was never as good as he was hyped to be - he made fake ALLSTAR appearances when he was going off potential and name recognition.
    Also it’s WAY EASIER to play perimeter defense when you are funneling guys to one of the best rim protectors in the game in Joel Embiid.
    Also defense is about effort - if Ben didn’t play D, why was he even on the court?? That’s why he played such good D - till he was exposed then he quit that too.
    He just doesn’t care - all the hype people and enablers do Ben a disservice - so has his family sheltering him.
    You can’t shelter someone who is in a competitive industry like pro-sports.
    As soon as Ben was exposed he quit. The second he was exposed to ANY accountability he quit.
    He still takes no responsibility for anything that has happened in his career. He has wasted a lot of his money cause of ego and narcissism - he bought all these cars and expensive houses trying to maintain this stupid image - this dude is a sports fraud.

    Kobe said it best, the guy has all the talent a player needs to make it in the NBA, but if he had a jump shot he would be a problem! Problem is Simmons has had 7 years to develop this jump shot, free throws, and taking constructive criticism, and yet no one has pushed him until recently(last 2 yrs.)when the bottom dropped out('21 Playoffs vs. Hawks)from under him. I really feel for this young man, because believe it or not even though he's walking away from a career that he and only he could change the narrative no one else, personally I believe this is only the beginning of his troubles to come, I'll still pray for the brother though!!!

      There's no way Ben Simmons would retire because he wants the money. In all likelihood, this is Ben's last NBA contract, and because of the millions in fines he racked up in Philly sitting out, Simmons fully understands how to make sure he gets every last dollar.
      Brooklyn, on the other hand, will do whatever it takes to trade Ben. Even if they strike out, at least they can sleep knowing they made every effort to get something for him.
      Waiving Ben Simmons now would hit the Nets' salary cap for $78.2 million, including $37.9 million in 2023-24 and $40.3 million in 2024-25. Yeah, they will not eat that, if they can somehow avoid it. 🏀💰

      @@TuNnL it’s a nightmare of a contract to get rid of from a nets POV. I don’t doubt Simmons wants the money, that goes without saying, and I don’t fault him for that. I DO doubt there will be many of any that’d be willing to invest anymore time into him.
      Guess we’ll see. I’m not a hater, and when Ben Simmons was on fire he was fun to watch. I’d like a Fultz style comeback.

    • @TuNnL
      @TuNnL Před rokem

      @@froggyspond1133 I don't believe an NBA team (other than Brooklyn) will attempt to trade for Ben this summer, so his window for a comeback is next season. The Nets will give Simmons 15-20 games to show them something, and if he raises his value enough to interest a single NBA team, they will trade him by the deadline.
      If not, Brooklyn will look into some sort of "medical hardship" clause in the CBA which exempts them from the salary cap hit, and barring that, they will negotiate some sort of agreement where Ben retires, but still gets paid, even if it is the full amount.
      The Miami Heat did this for Chris Bosh, who certainly deserved it more than Simmons does. The Nets would merely do it because there are very few ways out of a guaranteed contract. 🏀📜💰

    Ben Simmons needs to be on a team like the warriors. It’s common sense. He needs to be surrounded by shooters like LeBron James.

    He was a bit weak mentally. He needs a good culture and team that would push him well. Let him decrease in value and maybe the Warriors could pick him up at a minimum. Maybe the Warriors would be a change of scenery for him like Wiggs.

    • @meyou8141
      @meyou8141 Před rokem +4

      Totally different situation with Wiggs. Wiggs was good with the Wolves, he's just not the no 1. guy. Simmons has been on two teams where the coaches and teammates don't want him. He puts more effort in dressing up to be noticed on the bench. There's nothing in his background that shows that he wants to put in the work or be a team guy.

    • @bangfreiheit2564
      @bangfreiheit2564 Před rokem +1

      @@meyou8141 Yup, I get your point regarding Wiggs. I am just saying the Warriors culture and development team is great in helping not just underappreciated players, but also players who lack in certain areas. Look at Javale and Lee, somehow their strengths are further highlighted in the long run. They might just be the refresher team and culture he needs to probably bring him back to at least a competitive standpoint.

    • @seangill83
      @seangill83 Před rokem

      Simmons is basically a Draymond type of player, except that Draymond was a later draft pick, is smart and gives his heart and soul to every game. Draymond can get away with his lack of shooting because of all of the intangibles he brings. Simmons doesn't bring any of that. Simmons needs to go to China and play with Russ on the Shanghai Sharks

      @@h5v1y0 His reasons for being a sadboi is fucking stupid. He has every gift a human could need to be successful & he's too mentally weak to achieve anything in something as easy as a sport. He's genetically gifted for the game yet doesn't have an ounce of dog in him. I also genuinely believe that he uses that "mental health" garbage as a shield to get people off his back. Also, I'd never have a sad day In my life if I had the money he has.
