Ibadan has the highest number of research institutes in Nigeria.....IITA,NISER,NIHORT etc.....have you ever been to any?....are those, including UCH and UI always shown in those old brown roof pictures they always feed you with?......I live in Ibadan city,the city ia fucking underrated.Ibadan city alone has 8 big shopping mall....and has the largest shopping mall in west Africa(the palm malls in ring road)
When I see old district picture of Ibadan(built when lord lugard has not even founded port Harcourt, enugu and kaduna),I ask myself, where is Dugbe CBD,Jericho,oluyole,NISER,IITA,NIHORT even UI in this picture now?.The old part was so big that, Ibadan was the only community described as city when lugard and his wife stepped on niger area soil in 1860s.
I live Ibadan,when I see PHC photos and videos,I always marvel at how overrated PHC is!
My city Port Harcourt wins hands-down! Kumasi has some very nice modern structures on the outskirts though.

@@aoppong6419 ..Port Harcourt city authorities have done well when it comes to greening the road sides, landscaping etc than kumasi city authorities.
Also they have a nice CBD and estates but to say Kumasi is congested and dirty than Port Harcourt means you know nothing.
Go and search for the population of both cities. Watch videos of the old areas of Port Harcourt and you will know that Kumasi is nowhere near Port Harcourt when it comes to congestion.
Kumasi only needs proper zoning, discipline and road beautification, that's it. PH city authorities are a bit ahead of Kumasi city authorities when it comes to planning and beautification.

Kumasi is ok. It's quite a big city as well. But Port Harcourt light years ahead of Kumasi. It's really not comparable at all. I'd probably compare Kumasi with Ibadan and Benin city instead. Even Kano, Kaduna and Enugu I think are nicer urban areas than Kumasi.
Port Harcourt has far superior road network, lots of multinationals, two seaports (Onne and Port Harcourt), two airports (PHC international and airforce base (garden city airport), three stadia. I could go on and on.
Kumasi first needs to at least sort out internal roads outside of the major ones for starters.

It's not about the hype. It's the reality. Port Harcourt is actually Nigeria's second economic center and the only reason I put Abuja ahead is because it's the capital and concentrates the Federal Government's resources.
But when it comes to the level of industrialization and internationalization PH is among the top 3 in Nigeria.
Most international activities in Nigeria outside Lagos and Abuja are done in PH.
Same with foreign investments and many other aspects.
You assumed I had beef with Ibadan I don't know why but that couldn't be further from the truth. Ibadan comes in at 5th place economically after Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano.

You can't seriously compare Tamale with Kano. A northern Nigerian city I can compare with Tamale would be Gombe or Jalingo.
Enugu versus Kumasi. Kumasi is bigger and more commercial, Enugu is structurally more advance and more wealthy with really nice real estates and ambience.
Tema versus Cross River (not even Calabar would be a joke) Calabar blows it away totally. Just that Tema has a functional seaport which is bigger than that of Calabar. But then Tema is actually part of greater Accra metropolitan area is the principal port for Ghana.
Takoradi versus Uyo (Really, I'd like to see how that will go).
Ghana is actually a nice place but Nigeria is far more diverse with so much to see if you have the time and funds to explore it. Nigeria's urban population at 51% of national total would translate to at least 105 million urban dwellers which is about the same size as Africa's second most populous nation so comparing Ghanaian cities with Nigerians cities as at 2021/2022 outside of Accra and Kumasi might not go down well for Ghanaian cities. Though they have more reliable power supply generally

Kano Nigeria vs Kumasi Ghana
This will be interesting to see if upto date footages of all of both cities are available. They're both big cities. Though Kano is more developed in terms of commerce and industry and infrastructure. Looking at the satellite images of the duo in earth view will show you how much of infrastructure Kano has over Kumasi.

Even in Port Harcourt, most places were not captured. Port Harcourt golf course and old GRA wasn't done justice, new GRA also not shown, Peter Odili road alongside golf estate also missing, Trans Amadi industrial layout left out, same with shell IA and RA. How about University of Port Harcourt and Rivers State University, there the Onne oil and gas free zone which majority of videos of the internet do not capture at all. Airforce hamorny estate, mother and child hospital, salvation ministries, port Harcourt airport. There's just too much that's also not covered in Port Harcourt
