Maul was a loss, Tyranus was expendable, Vader was a disappointment, Luke was the one that got away
😂😂😂😂 Poor Palp
All of that is quite true
Still fucked over the republic tbh
How right you are.
@trevturp6891 Palpatine wanted Luke to replace Vader as his apprentice. In Canon this never happened. So Luke is the potential apprentice that escaped Palpatine's thrall.
Summed up in one sentence: Palpatine didn’t give a shit about anyone but himself. He made his followers feel like they were his trusted confidants but stabbed them in the back eventually. I will say though, even though Palpatine cared about Anakin primarily to achieve his goals, I think he did somewhat care for Ani a bit. He says to Yoda: "Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us". I think that showed that in an extremlt twisted and dark way he did somewhat care for Ani.
Yeah I feel like for as selfish and evil as sidious was, he was ok with anakin surpassing him because sidious would be remembered as the one who molded him
That's the paradox of the sith. They're entirely egocentric, and yet plan to be vanquished by an apprentice for the greater good of the order.
Although one can reconcile the two by thinking that creating a worthy replacement is a way to inscribe one's legacy after one's death.
Palpatine wanted Anakin for the same reason Orochimaru wanted Sauske 😂
If he truly meant that. He wouldn’t have purposefully given ani a suit that hindered him, his power and potential so much. He did so to keep him under. He never wanted Vader to grow stronger than hill
Palpatine made Vader’s suit poorly to punish him for his failure against obi wan
Palatine: You are very important
Palatine in his head: You all mudbloods to me
can you imagine how powerful a Sith Lord Anakin would have been if he hadn't been physically injured/damaged by Obi-Wan during their duel on Mustafar!!!
He’d be the most powerful Sith Lord ever. He’d eventually find true balance and become a Force God 💯
he might have balance but in the process of reaching his full potential he would have reached insanity. so it’s possible that he would have went full darkside.
I imagine that sidious is sitting in his chair with hot cocoa and a quill. Dear diary….
😂
To me the so called "legends" is the true canon
I honestly don’t even like using the word legends, I just say it since people get confused
I enjoy stories from both Legends and Canon. They're all still Star Wars stories, just two different continuities. 🙏
There is no such thing as a "true" canon. Such crybabies are the legends cultists.
@@RetneysHolocron I 100% agree with you
@@MutantsInDisguise No-no please don’t. A lot of fans of the EU don’t really care about Disney Star Wars because we’re happy with our continuity
The only ones getting mad are those who defend “legends” but have never picked up a “legends” books before.
Palpatine should have just found one really angry little ewok. Even Palpatines true master, Darth Jar Jar, would fear the darkside wrapped in so much cute fur.
As I listened to your excellent video, a thought came to me... The Sith are incredibly weak comparatively to the Jedi, in the grand scheme of things. Before Bane, their infighting was their downfall, after Bane, it took them 1000 years just to break even with the Jedi, and then, the total investment in such few individuals made them vulnerable to defeat, merely because of their lack of numbers. One slip-up and the chosen one became almost useless. And how long did their tenure last? 30 years vs 1000 before that of the Jedi and indefinitely after with Luke.
In the end, the philosophy they had of focusing entirely on themselves made them completely vulnerable, as they had no one to fall back on. The Jedi did commit hubris, yes, but in the end, the lesson to be taken away is that it is better to co exist with other beings than to rule them and be tyrannical. Because, Sidious, in the end merely ruled a galaxy where everyone was trying to kill him... and eventually they succeded... twice.
@jamesblond1747
The Force: I don't care whether the Jedi are hypocritical or not, I only want the Sith to lose.
@jamesblond1747No, I think the Force seeks balance, and finds it in the events around the Skywalkers and Sidious. But, in the end, it's not only the force of "the Force" at play, but the force of statistics as well. 1000s of Jedi vs 2 Sith at a time. In the end, Bane's doctrine ensured the survival of the Sith for those 1000 years and ended the infighting, but didn't really bring about dominance. Sidious dominated for a very short time.
Furthermore, the Sith were looking for immortality, for very short sighted goals concerning their own short sighted needs.
Also, the Force eats away at darksiders.
Perhaps, what the Force truly wants, is for forceweilders to exist, but just like predators function as population control to herbivores... the Sith functioned as population control to the Jedi.
@jamesblond1747 The Sith as individuals aren't weak. The Sith as an order, though, are weak in comparison to the Jedi. It does matter how long they ruled. Their way of doing things may have had an impact during those 30 years, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to before and after. And in the end, it was infighting that destroyed them yet again. Vader killed Sidious. Sidious' own granddaughter killed him the second time. Kylo Ren turned against Sidious. And order of one, as Plagueis and Sidious wanted to achieve, is not an order. It's just one person, passing on nothing.
@@trevturp6891 His allies no... everyone else, yes. And they succeded.
@@trevturp6891 Anakin's potential was to be 200% stronger than Sidious. If he were to continue the rule of 2, that's what should've happened. Instead, he became a broken errand boy, who killed Sidious only when he returned to the light... and died in the process himself. Anakin was incapable of continuing the line, as had been continued from Bane to Sidious. And the line was broken.
Darth Sidious Is The Best/Smartest Sith Lord To Ever Live🔥👍
This still doesn't say who Palpatine thinks would win a battle between the two. By what you said I gathered that he taught Mall a lot and manipulated Darth tyranus
The ultimate Sith Lord couldn't find a good apprentice to succeed him. It must've frustrated the hell out of him.
Bro had the chosen one under his thumb and fumbled
Cool vid mate.
😎👍
This is why parts of Palpatine’s return is exciting. Palpatine’s notes in Sith Journals that gives his thoughts and feelings throughout the prequels, the original trilogy, and after the original trilogy in the sequels or in Legends after Endor.
I still believe maul had the Most Potential
Yeah i know Anakin and the chosen one
But maul accomplished so much more without brute strenght
do the canon version too. he called tyranus a proton torpedo which was fked up.
Awesome video brother 🤘 Team Darkside!
that thumbnail 🔥
Cool
In Legends not counting CGI TCW And Its Tie Ins based on most taggers Maul was a very loyal attack dog, Tyrannus was a worthy placeholder, Vader was a shell of his former self after Mustafar, Galen Marek rejected his wants, and Luke came to his senses for the most part aside from Dark Empire yeah.
Maul is from dathomir?
Maul’s backstory has been changed from Legends to Canon. This passage is Legends, from a 2007 book
Dooku was an idiot for not twigging that Sidious was planning to replace him
He thought the rule of two had culminated to produce Palpatine and once their Empire arose the rule of two wouldn't have a need anymore. He wanted to spare Obi Wan and some of the Jedi to act as dark side enforcers for the empire. Also you could argue whether he was planning to take out Palpatine with his own apprentices, or with Obi Wan on Geonosis but realistically he wasn't strong enough to beat him on his own so he just had to wait.
That is one 🔥thumbnail, may I ask where you got it ?
I just found it through Google after searching for a while
@@RetneysHolocron Got you. Can I ask what exactly did you search if you remember?
Frigging legends comic was better than the last 3 Disney Star wars films.
I thought Maul was from Dathomir.
His origin was retconned
The Jedi and the Sith are almost similar in every way
Darth Bane was a much better sith.
maul girl 4 life
Maul definitely beat Dooku Idky y’all so delusional maybe George Lucas should show y’all sum day
Beat Dooku in what?
This is why I prefer Sidious rule of one he knew his "apprentices" would try to kill him so he made sure they couldn't
@andreasschaeflein4233 I don't think Dooku ever tried to fight Sidious though. I guess he had more sense.
@dilbertfish one of the interviews with George, he said the reason he wanted Kenobi was so he could overthrow Sidious. It's possible that by the time of revenge of the sith, he changed his mind or had become completely twisted
He knew Anakin would kill him though.
@eho6380 prior to him burning, yes. After that, he made his armor vulnerable to lightning
@trevturp6891 because unlike the previous banenite sith, Sidious had no desire to let them become the master. He saw them as nothing more than tools
