Essentially, serial killer kills 5 kids, then makes a sonic rom hack where he confesses his crimes( I also believe he sent it to friends and family of the deceased although I can’t remember if that was a fact or if I’m remembering wrong) then kills himself before the police can get to him, the souls of the the dead kids then proceed to possess Eggman in the romhack and they then drag John(the killer)‘s soul into sonic and proceed to torture him in similar fashion to how they were killed

The killer's name was John Walker and he killed 5 kids or pre-teens
So, I can give some lore about this song. This is supposed to be a modified sonic rom hack made up to solve the puzzle about the assassinations of 5-6 kids (I don't remember), John Walter is the person who committed all those crimes and made the rom hack itself, in the V4 of the song it gives more context about it, like John Walter revealing that he kilIed h1mself. I don't remember to much and maybe so they changed a little bit of his lore lol

Let me explain it to you. Sonic 1 cartridge hacked to be in the NES style, dives into the murders of John Walter and displays pixelated decomposing bodies of 5 dead children. He did it for "True Salvation". Creator aka. John Walter turns it into an elaborate but twisted puzzle to be solved. John poisons himself to not be captured.

Not really. Same length and tbh, murder reports made this song unique. They were quick and fit the tone of the song. It honestly made me interested in sonic.exe lore. I mean, better than walking right past a spooky redesign of a Sonic level, right?

What’s the story of this
So basically, the story is centred on a hacked Sonic 1 ROM in the NES style, which dives into the murders of a dude named "John Walter" who has killed 5 children in pursuit of "True Salvation" and creates an elaborate but twisted puzzle to be solved and have the bodies of the children found. Before he gets caught by the police, he poisons himself.
