Guy is without question the Isle of Man TT's most popular competitor. With that comes unprecedented media attention, which is something he admittedly struggles with.
This short film gives us an exclusive insight into the man behind the leathers. For the first time, we see how Guy switches off to concentrate solely on racing at the most dangerous event in the world. While fellow rivals lap up the adulation back at the paddock with the fans, Guy strives for peace and tranquillity in his own unique way - painting a neighbour's house!

I've grown up going watching the TT races as my dads family live out there and it's just beautiful to see someone so passionate about it

What a good dude. When he came to New Zealand recently I think he liked the scene here because our media is actually quite pitiful when it comes to motorsport coverage. I mean Bruce the speed demon only got a passing mention for his lap record for fucks sake. Guy Martin true honest salt of the earth man very humble and you can't help but share his enthusiasm. I only hope he can finally get the #1 at the TT he's been trying so hard for.. Keep charging hard mate..

This man does not understand that he is a true ambassador to humanity, as he understates what multitudes would never get near in their wildest dreams. The more I watch this man do "stuff"....the more it amazes me.

The fact that he's going to be hosting Top Gear in the future gives me a little bit of hope that maybe the show may not be dead after all. If anyone can do it, its this guy.

ryan1540 its dead the way we know it, of course. They would have to fundamentally change the show to make it work with Guy Martin anyway, but I don't see that as a bad thing. Let's face it, Clarkson, Hammond and May aren't coming back. I'm not going to sit here and dwell on the past, I'd rather have a totally new kind of Top Gear than no Top Gear at all.

ryan1540 I think we need to stop looking at it as a replacement for Jeremy, Richard and James, and instead look at it is something entirely new. If the new top gear manages to be a good show, I don't see why it couldn't co-exist with whatever Jeremy, Richard and James end up doing.

The difficulty of 'understanding' Guy Martin isn't his accent, what you hear is his though process via his speech, his thought process is always so quick and always 'on' so even during sentences you constantly hear him readjusting mid-sentence many times over..so if you can't understand him....well! 😂
