Tempo looks like a short shot in more than one location.

Well, that's your take on short films, but it ends there. Just go watch any Oscar nominated short film and you'll find most are character oriented instead of plot oriented. Has a youtuber you have the responsability to properly inform the upcoming filmmaker audience and at least it deserves the disclaimer that it is your personal opinion on writing compelling short films.

Oh yeah you’re right. This whole time I was thinking this was his “objective” opinion that all “good” writers have. Glad I am informed now.

@@tacomantonytv1166 You are welcome, Sir. Because blatantly saying not to make jorts and making fun of deep characterization probably won't get you far.

You may be right, but the risk I see in your comment is that instead of encouraging creative approaches it puts short film development into ready made templates. Wouldn’t it be nicer for the audience too, to see many different types of short films? I think the video ads to that.

@@MartinTHoffmann definitely would. But you might miss the whole point in achieving the point title objective: writing a compelling short film. It depends on your goals and path. If you want to get into festivals and eventually landing gigs, probably won't. My only point is: as someone who regards himself as a teacher of some sort, you have the responsibility to show this approach as an alternative without diminishing the regular standards - which in any way are ready made templates. Even pulp fiction follows structure and deep characterization

Omeleto is a good channel a lot of the shorts seems to be that way, but are complex in there own right.
