Godowsky/Saint Saëns : The Swan (Le Cygne)

‘’Le cygne" illustrates the fleeting nature of beauty with its interpretation of the legend of the "swan song". Godowsky’s arrangement consists of four voices played by both the hands. This piece is the thirteenth piece from Saint Saëns ‘Carnival of the Animals’ Suite.
The difficulty of this piece lies in bringing out the main melodic lines along with the accompaniment at places. Also keeping the calmness of the piece is quite a task. I was immensely fortunate to have had masterclass of this piece with world-renowned Maestro Cyprien Katsaris during 2020-21.
