  • In this video I share movement strategies and tips to reduce stress to low back while sweeping floor with a broom stick.

    I appreciatethe seria of videos describing good body mechanics for haousehold tasks. I had no problem initiating the rotation. I have always swept by pulling the broom towards me. I understand that pushing away is better. I ws able to do it by focusing. I can rotate while pulling towards the body. It seems I use my arms more. I will work on the technique you recommend.

    It's always good., I feel when you show different ways we can improve our movements doing life, such as driving, sitting in car, driving, vacuuming., my forward head, breathing /speaking hinders my speaking.
    That's a problem for me breathing and speaking.

      I would love to find a page dedicated to walking.,speaking breathing and forward head, I am having this kind of challange, in my daily life right now, so, how do I know where to start.
      I am stressed all the time, anger seems to be the out come. 🥺☹️
      I hate it, so does my husband.

      Do you have any,others , or just sweeping , vacuuming can still be a challenge.for me,

    How do you bend while sweeping under a furniture or a bed...without hurting your back?

      Thanks for your question. A key is to bend from hips and initiate movement from the ground.

    What about using a push broom?

      you can apply the same principle. transferring weight to front leg from back leg.

    is this why there's no power when I throw a ball.
    Do I need to use the whole body , Taro?

      yes absolutely! you cannot throw a ball very fast and far without using your legs and letting the ground force transmit through your trunk and your shoulder and arm.

      I try to focus more on that.

    Is it the same technique in sweeping the floor when my lumbar spine hurts while doing it?
