I listen to this song every morning as part of my morning devotional. It is beautiful and so perfectly expresses my love and gratitude to my Lord and God!
With littel children singing it, it almost makes the song mean 100 times more to me... It'sbeautiful how little children can understand something like this.
If there would be one beautiful creation of God that is the earth... everything we need in daily living is here on earth, and i thank John rutter for making this beautiful song. this is one of the most beautiful renditions of this song i've ever heard..
I used to sing this beautiful song when I was about ten years old, and now that my little sister grew up and she's ten, she's is going to join the choir and they will probably sing this song again, even through these years...I am proud of her and very thrilled, and GRATEFUL, I thank the Universe and God for all this "beauty of the earth"...
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (October 4, Pentecost 19), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played this as the Opening Hymn. However, it was to the tune, DIX, composed by Conrad Kocher (1786-1872). It is #879 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
I've spent a lot of time walking in and out of faith. Faith in God, faith in people. But this song has always warmed my heart and put a smile on my face. It isn't denominational, it isn't divisive. It just reaches humbly out to the universe, to the source of all things, and says "Thanks."
Beautiful hymn that I loved singing in the Church of England when I lived there. God bless the faithful people of the C of E in their difficult moment in their history. God bless the voices and the conductor of this lovely Methodist choir. On this Saint Patrick's Day I pray for you all. Christos anesti!
So wonderful! I sang this song when I was in elementary choir. Know I'm 16, I still can't forget this beautiful song, whether I didn't know the mean of these words and didn't true believed in God. But know it's over 2years that I came back to church and enjoying God's love..This song touches me again!
We humans may be facing one of the greatest threats to our survival with this virus but as this song reminds us God is still in control.....Love to all
When I hear the song and see the picture, I am so touched by the mighty of God and His love. He gave us so beautiful place to live! we should praise Him!
i sang this song in my choir last year, and it was very fun to sing, giving back to the lord in anyw little way possible. and i say this as a proud boy who just so happens to be one of 3 men in my school choir. the only difrence is my school sang a 3 part version and it was "tis" instead of "this" in the line "this our joyful hymn of praise" my school sung "tis our joyfull hymn of praise. it's a beautiful song but sounds even better with a 3 part, or at least with some distinct male voices.
I think the beauty of this earth and how we all coexist. And however the smallest of creations functions in the most complicated fashion is enough proof that God exists.
I was introduced to this song when I was about 10 by a Choir teacher at school and it's probably one of my favourite ever songs. There is something so pure about it and this is a lovely version!

I have a tear in my eye, IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL! Thanks SO MUCH! I am so glad there are girls to rival those all boy choirs...wish we had some professional girl choirs out there, I have 4 young ladies myself and I'm sure they'd love to see a counterpart to The Boy's Vienna Choir!!
