As a trauma survivor this is 100 percent how I feel triggered when showered...I used to cry in the shower. I felt naked inside as well as outside. Violated but no one was in there in shower but me.

Every time I remember to do what you advise with my spouse with advanced Alzheimer's, he's calmer and more cooperative, and I'm less stressed by the whole process. Thank you, Teepa, so much for your well-proven theories and strategies.

After gaining comfort and enlightenment from so many of your videos, Teepa, it's about time I said thanks. This one is the most urgent for me to watch and listen to, as my spouse is well into Alzheimer's and is heading into incontinence. I need to work on my diplomacy and respect, for his comfort and to keep my home from smelling like ... well, like I'm not being an effective diplomat, that's what. I have four books on dementia as well, and they're all good, but your videos are so instantly accessible, when I haven't the discipline to sit and read. Bless you!

I use many of Teepa’s tips when showering my 88 yr old mom…what I’ve been doing is turning the water and small heater on and let everything heat up while mom is on the toilet, then ask my mom to check if the water is warm enough. She gets into the shower without a big conversation about why she “should” be getting in. She’s concentrating on the water temp, instead of fighting with me about not taking a shower.
